I want a PS3 so bad it hurts !! :lol

Turns out all the critics were wrong when they said the video's SONY first showed at the last E3 were all pre-rendered and not the real thing. Yes people, the PS3 IS as powerful as Sony says it is. It's scary just how far ahead Sony is (technology wise) from it's closest competitor, Microsoft with it's 360.

Keep in mind these are all first gen games and are still nowhere near completion, and they STILL make the best looking 360 games already out, seem like they were designed in another area entirely

Yes people, the PS3 is going DESTROY the competition !! Start saving up your money 'cause this will be THE console to have !!

I guess there werent many responses because I dont think anybody had any doubts that Sony was going to bring it during the next generation. Im pretty sure 95% of the people of this board will eventually own one anyways.

First of all,i will not shell out any more than $300 bucks for any console again...second,i would rather have an xbox 360 than a PS3...third,I will be supporting the Revolution in the coming generation....forth,i am not a fan of any of the Sony exclusive games,and i just dont like Sony....those may not sound reasonable to some....but i have to follow my heart

In my opinion, a true "gamer" would not limit his/her options when it comes to playing great games by delibrately avoiding one console over another simply because of who makes it.

A true gamer is in it for the games. Not the "name on the box"

By sticking exclusivly to either Nintendo, MS or Sony and not giving any other console a chance, you're definetely missing out on a lot of great gaming experiences. What a shame. :-[ You guy's should be a little more open minded.

Let's see, "Rich Brat" ?? Hardly. The money I have, believe me, I EARN IT !!

I work very hard for my money. VERY hard. On average between 55-60 hours a week my friend. I don't work at some easy desk job either. I'm in construction and that's just about the toughest most demanding jobs I can think of. The past month I've been hanging 35 stories up on the North side of a building in -35 degree whether doing brick work and at the same time trying not to get blown off the swing stage with all the wind blowing at 50km/h, so like I said, any money I have, I've earned it.

Yeah, after I pay off all my bills and buy my groceries, pay my car insurance and gas, I like to save up whatever money I have left and put it towards my favourite hobbies like gaming , music, cars, movies,, etc.

If that makes me a "rich brat", then you have a strange concept of what a rich brat means. By the time you get up each morning to go to school, I've already been at the jobsite for 3 hours and I'm still at work long after your home from school. You're only 16 year's old kid. You shouldn't be calling anybody a "brat" :

Look, my comment on what a true gamer is, was my opinion. If you don't agree with it, fine. But don't start throwing around insults 'cause you don't agree with someone else's opinion. That's just immature :nope

I think everyone knows my stance on Sony. But beyond that... I won't say someone else is not a gamer because they don't play the cube.... or Nintendo systems.
I think we are all gamers here.. we all have the right to opinions... and we need to respect them as well (even though your opinions suck :lol j/k). but seriously... people need to start chilling out a bit.

I never said he wasn't a gamer, I said that anybody that holds the mentality that only the name on the ouside of the console is what counts is not a "TRUE" gamer. There's a difference.

I''ll try and explain my point of view.

Say, you have two "gamers".

Gamer #1 is a fan boy. He loves Nintendo and ONLY Nintendo. He only buy's NINTENDO games. Only buy's NINTENDO consoles is generally only interested in NINTENDO products. He refuses to buy any other console, not because of lack of interest in the games available for that console, but simply because it's not made by NINTENDO.

This "gamer" insists that all other consoles "suck" and all their games "suck" even those he's never played any of them. This "gamer" will NEVER know what it's like to play some of the greatest games ever made which were only available on Sony, Sega or MS simply because these consoles don't have the "Nintendo" badge on the outside of the box and there for, he refuses to play them :

This "gamer" knows full well, that the other console's offer some amazing games, but isn't willing to admitt it. Deep down inside though, he knows these games are great and if any of them were made available for his "console of choice", he'd buy them in a heart beat. :lol

Gamer #2 doesn't have any preference what so ever when it comes to console manufacturer. Whether it be Sony, Nintendo, MS (or any other company that may join in the game industry. Gamer #2 is only interested in the GAMES. He'll buy any console that good games are available on and there for, keeps his options open as he's not tied down to any 1 single manufacturer. Gamer #2 plays ALL the good games regardless of the system they're on because he's in it for the GAMES !!! Not the brand.

Can anyone really say both these guy's are the same? Of coarse not. Yeah, they're both "gamers" since they both play videogames, but only one of them is a "true" gamer since he/she is willing to play/buy any great game, regardless of the console they're available on.

I dont know, maybe I'm the only one who thinks this way but you can't possible argue that everyone is on the same level....

The comment that was made by one of the members which was something along the lines of "I don't like XBOX.... there's no real reason for it .......I just don't like it " proves my point. Not everyone is what I consider to be a "TRUE" gamer.

This is not ment to be an insult to anybody. These are just games after all and I honestly couldn't care less what games other people play/don't play. There are all different kind of gamers I was just pointing out the differences. I don't see how I've offended anyone. :?

I think the problem here is that there are too many immature kids on this site who take everything personally. If you don't like their favourite sytem "you have a hidden agenda" or you're a "rich brat" or "screw you" etc. etc. etc. :

They can't contribute anything meaninful to the thread so instead they resort to name calling and insults. Stick to the topic at hand people.

Doesnt matter if somebody is a true gamer or not. Whether you're a casual gamer or a true gamer, everybody's opinion's will be respected as long as they follow the rules. If a person doesnt want to purchase another system then it's their loss (Or the companies loss depending on who you talk to.) No big deal, either ask for their opinion on why they dont want to buy that system or just move on and keep discussing the topic at hand. In any case, everyone of us here is a gamer of some type. All that matters is that we enjoy them and discuss them in a civilized manner. Games are meant to be fun and we shouldn't have to worry if somebody is a "true" gamer or not.

Now that that's said, keep discussing the topic at hand or it will be closed. Keep talking about the videos and pics.

first of all i never said i wont buy it because its made by a certain company

I never said i would never play any of the games on it. I have played games on xbox and like them.

all I said is that i wont buy an xbox because i dont like that system. I dont like the controller. If there were more games on it that i really wanted to play i might buy one. but as of now im not going to go spend the money on a system i dont like. When if there is one or two games i want to play on it i can go over to a buddies house and play them.

As for my first post I have allready taken back the rich brat comment because it was out of line.

But you said yourself That people shouldnt post name calling and insults if they dont have anything meaningful to add to the thread.

Just out of curiosity what would you say calling people "Imature Kids" is?
