Lurker
It's got DCHP enabled and UPnP disabled, and my 360 still can't connect. Any help?

It's possible that you would need to open up some ports on your router. Google 360 router problems and you should be able to find some help.

Yeah, turns out I need three cables to use my router, of which I have two, so I went and tried my modem. Everything worked fine until it started checking if I could connect to Xbox Live, which I can't.

It obviously isn't. That doesn't really help because you can't open your router or modem through the XBOX.
Let's focus on modem until I can get that third cable.

Yeah, i got a WRT54G... I also bought the most expensive one at the store though too.... :lol
Yeah, that's my router, too. :/

One goes from the modem to my router, one goes from the router to the computer, one goes from the computer to the 360, I think. It's so both the 360 and computer can access the internet at the same time, otherwise my time on Live would be severely cut down.

Modem > Router

Router Port 1 > Computer

Router Port 2 > 360

Sorry, just kinda assumed that you'd know that you needed to connect things to the router... >__>

I highly doubt you'll find some that small, you'll probably be paying $10-15 for maybe like a 7' cable...

:lol

This is kinda cute though. http://www.officemax.com/omax/catalog/sku.jsp?skuId=21058622&searchString=&productId=ARS28021

2 feet, so like, $5? If I can find one that small.

The shortest you can buy is 3' and any computer store should have them for cheap. Like aleeock said, you need to run everything to the router. You could use internet sharing and a x-over cable the way you're doing it but it's a PITA. Just run it to the router and it should be fine.
