Little Help with copying movies

I have tried to copy movies to my PSP about a million different ways. I dont want to buy the 30 or so dollar software, so i tried goin around it but find a DVD copier and an mpg4 converter but there is just no such thing. So if you have a way that youve done it, I'd love to know.

First of all how big is the file? Second you need Sony's convertor. That is a special card reader where you put your memory card and it is able to put in on those memory cards. Its a little complicated. Go to the website that is in your manual. The manual also has instructions on how to do this.
 
yeah... do what creepin said. Its not that hard to do.. the steps are slight... but IMO its a pain.
It would have been nice if it worked right out of the box like playing mp3's did.

Thats what I said. But oh well, its not the sole reason I bought it.
 
Sorry, I wasnt more specific in my first entry. I meant like copying movies from a DVD to my PSP. I have a memory card that should hold a movie but i just dont have the prgram to do it. No free software I can find will copy the movie, shrink it down so it fits on the PSP, then convert it to mpeg-4. I can putit on there from then on.

Well then you have to rip the DVD first. And then get a program to turn it into an MPEG4. Have you had success putting other videos on there?
 
No, I havent been able to put a full movie on yet because all the downloadable prgrams I have found to rip the DVD are only trial versions. They only allow either a 5 minute record at a time or just half the movie. To get the full movie you have to buy the progrmas wich i dont exactly want to do. So if you find any programs that will do the whole movie let me know.

where have you gone to get the programs? www.downloads.com has some, but im not sure if they are free or not. I use a Mac and I have freeware versions that can rip. Im not sure which ones are available on PC. But ill look into it since I need to know also.
