Videogames are not the cause of violence, mmkay. Can they cause someone to have an increased sense of aggression?? Maybe. But that's only temporary, mmkay. Humans have been hacking eachother to death since the dawn of time. The only difference is technology. I doubt that cave parents banned cave art because junior was bludgeoning his friends with boulders, mmkay. Violence is in anyone's genetic makeup. Especially if there's a lot of testosterone running through their bodies. It's sad that people have to be tought to be nice because being evil is so easy, mmkay.
Dr. Phil is just another Jack Thompson with a degree in deciphering ink blots. An idiot who gets paid to listen to the problems of other idiots. His opinion is worthless. Only politicians and dingy housewives will listen to his psychononsense. As people who actually "get the big picture", we are obligated to debunk his "expert opinion" and prevent politicians who change opinions when the wind changes direction (like Hillary) out of office.
The end. Mmkay.
EDIT- AGAIN
I read the article and noticed something that even these idiot "experts" don't realize. They say that videogames are to blame. But add in other factors that to me seem like the root cause. Lack of parental input (I think I have been saying that all along), schools not dealing with bullying. socioeconomic problems, etc. Videogames are not the root cause. It's possible that it could be the icing on the cake, but the other issues are the cake.
The Columbine killings could have been avoided entirely if school officials got off their butts and did something about the constant harrassment that the two kids recieved. At home, I am sure that their parents were not involved, being all the ammunition that they had in their rooms.
And just like the Virginia Tech shootings. We have a kid who was picked on and beat up because he was quiet, shy and didn't speak English very good. From middleschool to college, every day was the same. Being pushed out of every social group is even more damaging than videogames.
I don't know what's worse, having an abused person taking out his rage on the people who treated him horribly, or the moron "experts" who blame shift to gloss over the real problem.
