My store is hosting a

SUPER SMASH BROS. BRAWL TOURNAMENT!!

The best in my city will come and challenge each other!

I'll be taking photos of course and posting them here.

I'm quite excited that's for sure :)
 
Am I the only one who realizes you can join in over Wi-Fi? It'd take a few more minutes to get started, though.

Yes, but it's a totally different experience playing a tournament in person. Take MLG, for example. They have online tournaments as well as LAN gatherings... it's because that local tourney experience has a lasting appeal.

Well, yeah, but unlike Strubes, I'm not willing to spend hundreds on a flight to their for a Smash tournament. Unless he's kidding.

You don't know how tempted I am to come out to this. It would be a great way to start out Smashing again. :p But Waco's a good hour-and-a-half drive and I don't know if I could make that on that specific date... :(
 
Well, I live in Louisiana. So the drive would be about 5-6 hours for me, and about a one hour flight.

5-6 hour drive = Ton of money towards gas and food. (especially bad since I have an Avalanche that gets roughly 9-10 MPG)
Plane = Yeah. I don't feel like spending 100's on a ticket to Texas and back for a stinkin' game tournament.

If I lived nearby...sure. I'd love to go. But it's too much of an effort for me.

Okay overall, this tournament was KING OF THE CHEAPSKATES!

Out of 80 people, all I saw used again and again was Meta Knight, Luigi *YES HIM! I was shocked too!* Falco, Bowser, Kirby, Marth, Sonic, Fox, Sheik, and Wolf, and Snake.

The least used characters...Pikachu, Kirby, Toon Link, and Ganondorf

No Yoshi...and nobody else...it was a real dud...since they mainly used power houses.

Every idiot used Marth to death...but in 1 match, I saw Ganondorf pwn Marth...I could watch that again and again...XD
 
Marth is overpowering, always has been. I don't like the guy personally, but in every tournament since Melee...I get tired of seeing him there. He's a great character, but oye what a headache.
