Marvel VS Capcom May Come to Xbox Live and PS3 Store

In an interview with Gamasutra, Marvel's VP of interactive media Justin Lambros says he hopes to see Marvel vs. Capcom make its way to digital download. The main focus of the story for Gamasutra is supposed to be about EA's new Marvel Fighting Game, but following EA's aptly named Rise of the Imperfects, which was far beyond imperfect, you'll bear with us as we don't get excited about that and focus on Marvel vs. Capcom.

Lambros answers Gamasutra's questions about Marvel vs. Capcom appearing on Xbox Live by saying, "I'm a huge 2D fighting fan ... the Marvel vs. Capcom stuff has a definite close place in my heart, so we definitely wanna see that stuff live on." He says that there are no deals in place, but they may be considering it. Maybe when Capcom has Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix (with a side of cole slaw) completed, they can get to work updating Marvel vs. Capcom, let's keep Udon working.

Oh.....My.....God...

I hope this happens.

Ah, this would be a nice addition, though I'm VERY worried about online play. They don't normally work out for 2D fighters very well. Still, I'll buy it the day it comes out.

Well, if you want to get technical, MvC is played over the internet through an emulator and special servers didicated to said arcade emulator games.

I play it from time to time too.

However, anyone who's played this game for any extensive period of time knows infinites in the game. So unless Capcom plans on fixing the game up a little, expect cheap tactics left and right.

Morrigans's infinte: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGMdFWJVceI

Wolverine's infinte, roughly half-way through the movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-WlWlvOWcBo

One of Chun-Li's infintes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cmzelwG4gGY

War machine infintes around 1:45-2:00 and so on: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vuXnEGpBW0

Since MvC was intended for arcades, the didn't forsee anyone with hands fast enough to hit all 3 punches (which caues a dash) and to hit down (which stops the dash) consecutivly and quickly enough. Gamepads and controllers changed that very fast, and as you can see in the War Machine video, you can pretty much stop any of attacks at any point in time.

Not trying to discourage future buyers or anything, but don't be surprised when you see crap getting pulled off on your first game.
