MASS EFFECT 2 on PS3 (Update: New DLC?? 3 new trophies?)

Segatron Genesis... call me the wizard.
The official reveal of Mass Effect 2 on PlayStation 3 comes after this morning's appearance of an Amazon listing for just that. The retailer's January 31 date matches with the official "January 2011" timeline given at the presentation. BioWare's Dr. Ray Muzyka classified the announcement as "friggin' awesome," and we're inclined to agree.

One of the only reasons I wanted to re-buy a 360. Not anymore.

I sincerely hope they include the DLC. That'd be amazing. Then I'd buy it again for the PS3. Bioware makes dreams come true. (Well, my dreams.)

It probably will. The EA Spokesperson said there would be hours and hours of bonus content on the PS3 version.

Where are your 360 Exclusive God's know huh MicroSoft? J/P I own all consoles so it really has little to no affect on me, but its a great thing for ps3 only owners.... next up maybe a Wii version? :P

But in all seriousness, cool for PS3 owners. I've owned it since about a week after release and still have yet to play ME1! :lol

That brings up an interesting question, PS3 fans are going to be baffled if they have never played the ME series...

My old roommate is huge into the series but says the first game's events are basically retold in the second one through conversation. That, and if you can't get the story of the first one from a friend or online, then I don't know how else to help you...

But I think they'll release something along the lines of a prologue digital comic or something.

While confirming the inclusion of an introductory segment for the PS3 SKU, Muzyka was cagey on specifics, refusing to confirm whether or not new gameplay is to be included over the 360 and PS3 version.

"We're making sure there's a really seamless introduction to the world of Mass Effect, for players that haven't experienced it before," he said.

"So even though it's Mass Effect 2 specifically, we're making sure there's a nice introduction experience, that provides the back-story and the things that have happened up to that point in the universe, and makes it a really seamless introduction."

that may be true but there are also big decisions to be made in the first game that influence the rest of the game. if you dont play the first one yur not going to get the whole experience

While that would certainly add to it, it doesn't really matter much to me. I'll see the default story in part two. Since I didn't play the first one, I'm not going to really care not having my decisions used. But like my friends have said, it's a great stand alone game as well. I pretty much got filled in about the whole story within about 20 minutes from my friend anyways..lol.

Since this game still doesn't release until January, people who haven't played the first should at least try to play it. Whether on 360 or PC. It's a great game in its own right. I don't think it's something that should be missed.

Well its still pricey on the PC. Im intrigued at what does happen, im rather lazy in going through ME1 that I do own on Steam!

Well, if anybody doesn't want to buy it, see if a friend can let you borrow it. I'm just saying, the first game is good, and if possible, should at least be attempted to play.

Man, when comparing ME2 to ME1....ME2 is just sooooooooooo much better. So much better. I love Mass Effect 2 so much. It's such a great game. :D
