Maybe This Is Why "Newbies" Are Not Sticking Around.

Hi Members!
@ the Moderators,I know this could be put into the other category, with respect to new members and such, but I believe the "General Discussion" gets much more traffic,so I thought this was the best place to put it.

I'm not sure if someone has touched on this before in this way or not,but even so,it's still applies now.I can't speak for the others, but when I first joined this Forum,I was nervous. Not because you fellow members weren't comforting for a "Newbie",a little sarcastic perhaps, but that's normal no matter what kind of group you belong to.I don't know if any of you are Basketball fans, but the San Antonio Spurs guard,Tony Parker once mentioned, what it felt like to be a rookie to this team.

He said that when he first joined the team, that for the longest time, some of the other players wouldn't even talk to him. After a while,he got more playing time, and the other members got to see what he was made of.Now I don't know about you guys, but if I was placed on a team like the Spurs in the NBA,for the first part, until I "Broke The Ice" so to speak,I'd be as nervous as a hooker in church!

My point is,maybe it's not so much the sarcasm that Newbies don't like. It's been my experience when I first joined, yes there was sarcasm, but it was a little more than that.(I mean no disrespect,so please don't take this the wrong way,you members were very patient and helpful to me.)But not all Newbies feel that way.For
me,it was looking at those insanely high posts counts you guys have, and from time to time, having the feeling of being left out of the cyber conversation, and having very few replies to my posts in some cases, not all, like I said earlier, you guys good with me,but it can be very intimidating.

I can't speak for others,just me.
