Taken from one of the other topics here... Metal Slug 1-5 will be a launch title for the Wii.....  and IMO this is fantastic news.  It'll be a great addition to the library.

Anyone else looking forward to this?

NOW... my question is ... WILL the Metal Slug 3 in that compilation be the Metal Slug 3 from the Xbox version?  OR will it be from the Neo Geo version?  Anyone know?

Not sure but let's hope for more SNK titles in the near future. I want a console version of Card Fighters Clash gosh darn it! :D
 
I don't know... but I've wanted MS 1-5 on the Gamecube for awhile... and it looks like we are finally going to get it on the Wii :D

have you played the MEtal SLug series?

Lets just say, I own Metal Slug 1-3. I paid $350 for #3 on the Neo Geo AES system (1st run Japanese game). I paid $50 for Metal Slug 1 US on the Neo Geo CD back in 96-97 :lol ... that is a bargain today. I got Metal Slug 2 3 years ago at a decent price.

Metal Slug 4 and 5 on the Neo Geo AES system are $350 each still I believe... if not $450 for the US format (unless prices have dropped on them greatly in the last year).... of course you can get those versions for other consoles now.

Metal SLug is possibly the BEST side scroll arcade (contra style) shooter ever made. I shouldn't say possibly.... but there are a few that wouldn't agree with me. IMO it's probably the best.

These games are AWESOME... and for these 5 games for $50... it's a bargain to say the least. IMO this game is a must buy...

As long as they are identical to the neo geo versions (and yes, the neo geo version of the games always seem better than the ports) then we'll be ok.

Does anyone know if they are ported w/ loss of quality.... OR if they will be identical to their Neo Geo counterparts?
