I'm glad I didn't borrow Metroid Prime last week from my friend. I was holding out for this. They hinted about this months ago. I was reading earlier when it was announced...GameTrailers went NUTS. :lol

Yes, Wii only with new Wii controls.

which imo are actually a big difference, it felt really great to play metroid prime corruption with the wii controls and i think it should be the same to play the other metroids with the improved control

Perhaps I'd like it more.. I didn't like the GCN Metroid Prime control layout...

But 'til this point, I haven't really liked the Wii setup in general.

Maybe the two compliment eachother...?

So someone had to ruin the parade, by finding out the Wii Trilogy looks bad compared to the original GameCube classics.

Video with evidence, one notice is the water effects have been removed from the Wii edition.

yeah i noticed the water effects were gone when i played the game however i also noticed the overall textures and presentation of the game was improved. Also the weapon effects were not taken away in metroid prime 2 or 3, and i think the murky water of aether kept its texture as well....sure i'll miss the frost effect on the ice beam but at least they slightly upgrade the look of the dark beam and the dark burst :drool

overall this doesn't make me the least bit unhappy about buying this amazing compilation. compromises in graphics had to be made in order to make everything else look nicer? then so be it.

Look at the 1st comment in the link Mega made.

It has something to do with some of the effects from the Gamecube that the Wii cannot do and would have to be re-written.

I am not sure if it is true... they also stated that if a Ps2 game went to Ps3... then it would have the same problem unless the effect was re-written to work on the Ps3.

The explanation makes sense... it just sucks a little that they didn't improve a bit instead of letting some of the effects slide. It sort-of makes me think they rushed the trilogy out.

Never-the-less... this is a cool triology! I am thinking of picking it up.
