Music addicts??

I know this message board mostly has to do with video games, but I was just wondering if anyone was into music too.
Just seeing what everyone's favorite band/artist(s) are.

For myself, I've been into a lot of punk music lately. Not sure if you guys are. More into Hot Water Music, Rise Against, Lagwagon, Dropkick Murphy's, etc. But anyway, besides my point. One of my friends at Fontana told me about I guess this new band called The New Rivals. They actually do remind me of Hot Water Music. For those of you who haven't heard Hot Water Music, check out their myspace. Chuck Regan's vocals are awesome!!! Oh, and he did a solo tour last summer, that was cool too.

Anyway, besides my point, The New Rivals are actually pretty good. Their myspace profile is [removed]. I'm just all about the punk scene so I keep looking for new artists all the time. They are definetly worth a listen to, it's something new right?

what about you guys? anyone gonna step up and tell me what your favorite artist(s) are?

Yes, what Strubes said. I listen to classical pieces and various soundtrack artists such as Clint Mansell, Hans Zimmer, and Gerard Marino. I also find myself listening to ambient and new age music. I also like to listen the scores used in movie trailers. But I would say that my favorite composers are Immediate Music, Mozart, Bach, X-Ray Dog, Clint Mansell, Hans Zimer, and Gerard Marino. Yes, I have a very artsy taste in music.

ROCK AND METAL FOR LIFE!!!

With the way of Rockism. There is no other genre. Well, there is. But music that steps too far away from Rockism is not allowed during get togetehrs and/or ceromonies.

But yes. I do enjoy a good Classical, Jazz or blues. And some softer rock and/or roll! lol I said and/or. :) HATE RAP, TECHNO, POP etc.And I ain't afraid to say that!

I prefer R&B,J-Pop and really good, meaningful Hip-Hop (only Pop if it's Natasha Bedingfield). My favorite artists are Mary J. Blige, Ludacris, Natasha Bedingfield, Jay-Z, Corinne Bailey Rae, and Jennifer Lopez. :D

Top 3 favorite

Elvis Presley
Rolling Stones
Led Zeppelin

I could listen to those three for the rest of my life and be happy.

I am someone who is an actual music addict. It's pretty much my life. I do nothing but listen to music. From any genre. I go to shows and buy many albums. On top of that I'm also an audiophile so I spend as much money as I can to get the best sound as well.

The first and last things I do everyday is listen to music. I have my iPod by my bedside.

EDIT: Forgot to post my favorite artists

Metallica
Rage Against the Machine
Tool
Dream Theater
Bad Religion

Those are my top five for the moment.

The type of music I listen to depends on what I am doing. Christian rock while driving. Country when I am at home, and for some strange reason, when I am working on my car or truck, it has to be classic rock.

some fav bands are

coheed and cambria
sonata arctica
lynyrd skynyrd
rise against
black sabbath

not to into classic rock, but i respect it. some of the classic bands i like are (the ones i listed up there) and boston, journey, etc.

i hate most rap, but mostly soulja boy, with a fiery passion. talking into a mic takes no talent. they dont write their own music, lyrics or anything. they are just faces for record labels to make money. i hold zero respect for any of them

Hmm..so you don't know much about rap, huh?

:lol that's just ignorant. Your opinion isn't just and final, so I will help fill you in....since you have been horribly misled.

Let's take Eminem for example. He writes ALL of his own lyrics, and helps decide on the beat, and all the music. As a rapper, you don't get publicity for just learning how to play some instrument...you have to earn respect from your skills. "talking into a mic"...get real. :lol

thats one exception. 50 cent? soulja boy? never wrote a lyric in their life

Do you do research on this or what? :lol

50 cent writes all of his own music. Soulja boy, although I don't like him, wrote his lyrics too.

I see the rap scene has fooled you, too. Keep thinking that, Strubes, it's ok. :lol

As they say, ignorance is bliss. Some rappers don't write their own music..the two you suggested did. I guess being a fan of all music has opened my eyes a bit. Kind of the same with owning a PS3, 360, and Wii. As I love all of them too.
