My 360 "broke"...until I found out the truth..

Ok so about 2 weeks ago my 360 got the 3 rings of death. I was pretty angry to say the least. I haven't even had the system for a year yet. So last night I called 1-800-4MY-XBOX and I talk to Ali Babba or whoever. After repeating the serial number for the 10th time he asks me if I purchased this from anyone else. I tell him no since I bought it brand new from Toys R Us about 10 months ago. He then tells me this has been out of warranty since last year. I then get this little idea in my head. So I ask if the name under the warranty is my ex roommates. He says yes and now I'm angry for 2 reasons:

1. I don't have a 360 working.

2. My ex roommate switched the hard drive and face plate in order to take my newer 360 with him.

I also learn that my last roommate had to send his in already, so this is a common problem for HIS 360. He's in Florida right now going through combat training, so I called his girlfriend who's best friends with me. She tells me she knows where the 360 is because he paid more attention to that thing than her and said she'd gladly make the switch.

I guess the good news is I'll be getting MY 360 back within a few days. I just hate that shady business my last roommate did. And the sad thing is I'm planning on going to florida with his girlfriend for a few days just to see him.
 
Is this the same one that took off with all your games and stuff too?

Oh yea and Im goin to Florida July 3-10!!

Nah, not that one. The thing is, I knew all my roommates for years and they never seemed like they'd ever do anything like this. Maybe they just got greedy seeing how I'm the only one outta my friends that has all these systems and stuff.

Oh yeah, and I'll be down there from July 6 - 8! :D
 
Hope you're not gonna steal his girlfriend to get back at him. :-X

One thing I'd recommend is a dead bolt. I roomed with my cousin and one of his buddies a few years back. His buddy was the honest one. I had to lock down everything.
 
Yeah, the good thing is he's down in Florida now and I don't have a roomie. But I could never take his girlfriend...she's got the perfect personality and she's gorgeous but I wouldn't wanna ruin mine and her relationship ya know? :)

Nope. Ain't seen him since I left Northen Cali and went back home to Arizona. And now I am in North Carolina. Although he did email me a few weeks ago out of the blue...

Ive done something like that before. I switched my PS2 for someone elses without him knowing. Mine was in good condition and so was his. The reason I pulled the old switcharoo? Mine wouldnt play God of War. Since the person I switched out on is never going to buy that game, I say it wasnt really bad what I did. and hey: Hell never know
