My slim won't power up!

When you hit the power button it turns green for a few seconds and then turns red again. I haven't opened it up to look at it yet.

Any suggestions for how to fix it?

Also, I know you can send it in to Sony $45 and they will send you a new one. I was wondering if they would take it without the serial number on it? I bought this PS2 on eBay a few years ago and it didn't have the label on it.

This might get better responses in Tech Support... may seem kinda stupid to suggest it, but, have you googled the problem?

yeah, but it doesn't say too much about it

heard from a friend it could be a faulty power adapter

could be faulty power adaptor. also if it has any internal dc->dc powersupply that can go bad too.

Hard to say without seeing it.

You can also get arrested for it if you don't say it's broken.

Try plugging it in somewhere else. Ive experienced this problem when there wasn't enough power being supplied to the system. Also try a different power supply. See if that works.
