My sort of video game resolution

Since I have so many games I haven't even finished yet (in some cases haven't even started!), I decided to cut back on buying new games. My system for doing this: In order to buy one new game, I have to beat five that I already own.

For example, right now the game I'd like to get is Lost Odyssey. But before I will get that, I have to beat the following five games first:

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (almost there!)
Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn (probably closer to the middle than the end, but it's a start)
No More Heroes (still kind of at the beginning)
Professor Layton (very close to the end)
Final Fantasy III (close to the end)

There's really no particular reason for picking those specific five to beat except that I am currently playing them anyway.

I figure it's a good idea to set some concrete goals. ^_^

Do any of you have any sort of plan for this kind of thing?
 
I'm a gamer that likes to be very thorough,which is why in Sheena's topic "Video Game Confessions" I said that I bought "Twilight Princess" and I didn't even open it until I was through with "Ocarina Of Time".Some people think it's weird,but I don't like playing games like "Zelda" concurrently with other "Zelda" titles.I like focusing all my energy on one so that I can enjoy it on a deeper level.

My resolution is to maybe to mix it up a little and add a new sports game in. :woot
 
Ooo!  I like this.  I think I'm going to notch my list down to 3 though, cause it's kinda hard for me...  Gotta beat 3 games before I can buy/rent another one! :D

1. Super Paper Mario (Wii) - Right before the final boss, just don't really wanna do it
2. Sonic the Hedgehog 1 (XBLA) - This game is hard...
3. Call of Duty 2 (Xbox360) - I started over trying to do Veteran, but I got tired of it so I need to at least get through on Regular...
 
I very rarely buy games anymore, so I don't have the "problem" of owning games I haven't beat. :lol

The last game I bought was CoD4, and I've played through that game three times + now. Once GTA IV, Soul Calibur 4, and Too Human come out I might be in trouble...

I would do three, too, but I have so many games I haven't finished. :lol
 
I play games as I buy them, and my budget usually prevents me from getting another so soon.
 
Quickly, switch out Twilight Princess so you don't have to suffer through more.
 
My goal is to try to finish games I have never finished before!

1. Call of Duty 2 on VETERAN MODE
2. Devil May Cry 3
3. Devil May Cry 4
4. Devil May Cry 2 (Yes it's bad, but I need to finish it)
5. Ninja Gaiden (Sure I've failed numerous times, but LISTEN, I will finish it!
6. Finish Guitar Hero 3 on HARD MODE
7. Start any GH game on EXPERT MODE and pratice my butt off
8. Finish JORDAN on Expert in GH2.
9. Complete The FEAR FILES on Xbox 360 (Haven't even started yet sadly!)
10. Finish FABLE The Lost Chapters
11. Beat Manhunt 1 and 2 (Haven't really finished them)
12. Find a way to defeat that boss in KOFXI (Very odd character)
13. Finish Half-Life games on Orange Box and try to finish PORTAL
14. Try to finish Assassin's Creed! grrr!
15. Beat BIOSHOCK on Hard Mode
 
I have tried to do this several times, but I always end up giving in. It's a bit cheaper for me because we have a flea market mall down the street and a guy there sells nothing over 25.00. So ever time I get the itch for a new game it's too easy to fix. However, I will try it again. I will beat three.

1. Phantom Hourglass
2. Paper Mario
3. Halo (even though it really sucks, I feel strange for not beating it when I've had all these years)

5. Super Mario 64(all 120 stars)
6. Sin and Punishment(hard mode)
7. Kid Icarus(beat)
8. Mario Kart 64(beat)
9. Star Fox 64(beat every planet)
10. Link to the Past(beat)
11. Kirby's Adventure(100%)
12. Gunstar Heroes(hardest difficulty)


Woo.
 
Alright I'm gonna make a longer list...

5. Finish Rock Band Guitar on Expert (stuck on the last 5 songs... :( )
6. FINISH SUPER PAPER MARIO ALREADY!!! (on chapter 8-4 dangit...)
7. Finish Assassin's Creed (I'm like... halfway through it)
8. Sonic The Hedgehog 1 (I find this one strangely difficult >.>)
9. Get all the Chaos Emeralds in Sonic 2 (Up to 4...)
10. Phantom Hourglass - Beat a Zelda game for once
11. Beat Final Fantasy 3 DS
12. Gears of War on Hardcore and Insane... (o.o I needs help...)
13. Beat Blue Dragon
14. Unlock everyone in DoA4
15. Get Marilphe to level 40... >.>
16. Then get her to 70...

I know I'm missing things... But that'll have to do for now...

I wish you luck with that. I unlocked everyone except Tengu, and I don't care to try for that. You have to beat Time Attack with every character to unlock him, and I just can't do it.

Yeah, but still. I want that sense of accomplishment that I finished another game, even if it is TP. :)

Honestly, I don't even expect myself to finish HALF of that list... Oh man would I love to, but I've been almost finished with Super Paper Mario for a week now and I can't bring myself to play it...
 
Sometimes having too much choice on what games I can play is a bad thing. That's why I'm trying to cut down my options by beating some of them.
 
I think that's my problem. I dont want to beat them. If I beat them, I have no reason to go back and play them again unless there's more to do with it after the game's over. I normally stop right before the last part of a game or right before the last boss.
 
I would like to buy a PS3.
I would like to buy an X-Box 360.


I want to beat Final Fantasy X and XII.

If I ever get a PS3 or 360, I want to get BioShock, Assassins Creed and Lost Odyssey.
