My Take on Starfox

ok... I was able to play the demo.

Funny thing is.... in the demo....... they had all flying missions. They didn't have you play any on foot missions.
The flying missions weren't too bad. They are like how the old starfox used to be, BUT had a new feel to them. They didn't feel like the old starfox games. The energy works the same, same bombs..... ALTHOUGH the boost is a little different.. they seem to have designed the new arwings with the engines in the center back. maybe I am wrong... but I didn't think they used to be like that.

I liked what I played. I wish the whole game could have been flying.

Bad thing is that I cannot comment on the land based missions yet :-\ I think it was pretty bad that they didn't have the land missions playable.
They must have knew I was going to play it and rip it a new one for the land missions.

You know what I really miss from the original Starfox? The missions in space where you battled inside other space craft.... blew up their core and then flew back out. There was 1 mission in particular you did this 2 or 3 times before flying into the huge boss....and defeating that core.
cool stuff the original one was.

Ya, I remember that level in the Snes one, it was amazing (at the time, and its still pretty cool today). I always wondered why they didn't have a level like that in the 64 one, and it would have been really cool to have seen that in the new one.

pretty cool today? man.. the original Starfox is AWESOME .. .even by today's standards.

That was one of the 1st things I was looking forward to in the N64 version..... was a level like that.
No can do though.

And we strayed even farther in the Gamecube version :(

:lol Actually, I can't even play the Snes one anymore. I can't tell health items from enemy shots and vice versa. The framerate is too choppy and the draw distance is too low. After having played next gen consoles so long going back to graphics like that is just too hard.

trust me you don't want to play the foot missions. the flying missions are the BEST part of the game. and they are not as fun as starfox 64

you have to be kidding me. Its not that bad.... I just played it the other day :lol
Dude... it runs pretty smoothly. And its easy to tell enemy shots from powerups.... Its all in the color :D

Whats hard to see sometimes are those pointy aircraft flying at you.

Beyond that... its still a blast to play (like UN Squadron)

@ FF master The running missions suck then?

maybe it was just me but i simply didn't like the running missions. and there wasn't that many flying missions witch is the best part of the starfox series

here is the best games in the series in order
1.starfox 64
2.starfox
3.starfox adventures
4.starfox assult

I'm not saying that assult was bad just didn't live up to starfox quality work. that's all.

So you actually like Starfox Adventures better than assault?

adventures is all ground based, right? except for a few dino riding missions.... I thought.

Apart from the flying missions, Starfox Adventures really wasn't that bad. I think people are being far too judgemetal over it.

I hated it :lol. To be perfectly honest, I despise all Rare platformers (with the exception of CBFD that is). They all follow the same formula of collecting a whole bunch of stuff so you can gain access to areas where you need to collect more stuff, and so on. The characters change, and the areas change, but its always the same thing. SFAdventures followed this formula to a "t", except the voice-overs and script were more annoying than usual, the combat system was amazingly dull, and in the end it just didn't do it for me at all. As well the obvious addition of making it a Starfox game at the last minute really hurt the game more than helping it. This was just a game where the whole way through it had a "been there, done that" feel to it.
