When I load the game this screen pops up reading this; 'Unable to find technique Skid in shader fx\worlddecal.efx'

Yeah, your system probably isn't powerful enough to handle it. Which Need For Speed game are you playing, and what specs does your computer have?

+1. Try to uninstall and then reinstall and make absolute sure there is no programs running in the background such as anti-virus software. Have you got the latest driver for you video card? If none of that works post up a dxdiag report here {start-run-type in dxdiag}
