Yeah, but the last time Sega put out a Classics collection, they "updated" a lot of the games and made them worse instead of better.

Sega Classics Collection is a compilation pack that certainly offers a lot for very little, but when that offered batch is nothing more than bland and flawed representations of the actual classics, it's almost a videogame rendition of a bait and switch. Most of these "remastered" versions are awful, buggy 3D recreations couldn't stand on their own by themselves, and Sega would have been better off simply throwing the actual originals on a disc instead and calling it a day.

There's no guarantee that the new one will be any different, although it does have better games.

At any rate...if you don't like the idea of the VC, don't buy it. It's really very simple.

Well the only difference, is this VC is not re-made in 3D graphics and delivered in a nice lil package of games in their original form.

What's sad, is those 3D remakes were sold individually in Japan as "Sega Ages 2500 series" for $10 to 20 a pop per game...however, the later volumes started shaping up nicely on the PS2. For example, Virtua Fighter 2, Fighting Vipers, The Last Bronx, and Panzer Dragoon.

The idea is fantastic, it's the execution of that idea that I find reprehensible. For less than the price of three Sega games on the Wii you could buy this collection and have twenty-eight classic Sega games. The idea of re-distributing classic games on newer, longer-lasting consoles is a great idea, but charging $5-$8 apiece for them is not.

as I stated before... I do not agree virtual games are worth $8 a piece.

I say $1 (like the Itunes music) at most.

you know... sometimes I think that the virtual console is a bad idea.

I think Nintendo should not sell the VC games for a profit. They should sell them at the lowest possible price that pays for the cost of offering the games.

I'll say it again. None of you are the target. If it's that big of a deal, go secure a cartridge and save a whopping 3 dollars or so, depending on the game.

This will work by far and well with the intended target audience (which is, again, none of you likely). Nintendo know what they doing - sending out every zig.

This makes no sense.

Nintendo might as well sell the Wii at cost too - and hey! Why bother turning a profit? Might as well sell games for just enough to cover development costs. In fact, adjust the cost in real time - don't want to ring in too much revenue as that may result in a profit, which is somehow terrible for a business (http://www.dictionary.com).

You know Sartori's right, they cant just sit there and not make any money, if they do that then there gone and Nintendo as me know it is gone. Do you really want to be in a world with only Microsoft and Sony, I think not.
