Neo Geo CD Neogeo CD vs. AES (Perhaps part 2)

The games are without question the reason why the Neogeo is the only system I own. I have had my AES for 2 years now, and I have enjoyed every minute of it. Recently, I got a CDZ (I use to own a Toploader CD). The Toploader was the first experience of a Neogeo I have ever had besides the arcade of course. I can remember playing with my best friend Alicia (still best friends) on Aero Fighters 2 , and Last Blade 1 for hours or even by myself. This CDZ brings back all those memories.

I hate to say this. But I had more fun then, and I am having more fun now, than I had in 2 years with my Neogeo.

And not just because of the cost factor, because frankly Real Bout 2 or Sengoku would be BETTER on the CDZ than on the Neogeo AES.

1. The Sound- You have to hear the crystal pumping clarity
2. The graphics-You have to see the clear, sharp, popping colors you could never get on an AES, even modded
3. The sweet control pads that will always work best with the CD systems

I am trying not to jump the gun, but when I know that I could trade in my Neogeo AES, the games, controllers, and get those same games, and even more games, and it would be better, it is really tempting.

That's exactly what I did; sold all my AES stuff to fund the CD collection. Big mistake.

I know I've talked some rubbish about the value of games and people spending "crazy" amounts of money on games but I was wrong. Didn't realize how much I missed my AES until I bought another recently...

So I guess my point is don't do it! You'll regret it. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow etc...

I don't know... I've never really wished I stuck to the AES only...

I have an MVS arcade setup, AES, and CD... I have the most games for the CD BY FAR! Maybe 30-40 some.... but, I love the Neo CD. Aes is great too... as is the MVS, I've always just been particular to the CD.

Oh I've no plans to get rid of my CD system, just nice to have the best of all 3 worlds... Cheap CDs, MVS carts (MVS set up works again now) that weren't released on CD and are too expensive on AES (Kizuna springs to mind...) and the occasional posh AES cart.

I doubt I ever would considering how rare some CD titles are now-a-days. Like if I sold off my Magician Lord cart and my SS2 cart, I am not sure I would get the CD versions.

Samurai Shodown 2 is not too rare yet on the Neo CD... but Magician lord is :) I think I have both in stock ;)
