New Willy Wonka Movie

Is any one else uber excited by this? The first Willy Wonka was, and still is, one of my favrite movies, I still watch it everytime I catch it on TV. It was an amazing movie, so of course I'm going to go check out this remake on the first night.

The best thing is, Tim Burto (AKA God) is working on it, and Willy Wonka is being played by none other than the the amazing Johnny Depp. I think that's a pretty good roster, Tim Burton has made some of the best movie and Johnny Depp is as good of an actor as he is sexy ;)
 
I always look forward to anything with Tim Burtons name attached to it. The man is an amazing director, and I'm sure Willy Wonka will live up to the expectations since he is directing it. It helps that Johnny Depp is in it too...this man does an amazing job as an actor.
 
I've been a fan of Willy Wonka as much as anyone, but this new one feels so dark, the Tim Burton appeal is there...but I just don't know if Johnny Depp can top Gene Wilder. It'll be interesting to see this summer
 
I just got done watching the trailer... again. It was crap, but I'm still not that worried.

And your right, NO one can replace Gene as Willy Wonka, but Jonny Depp I think will be pretty good.
 
I've seen a pic, and he doesn't really look like Willy Wonka. He's wearing black instead of purple, too.

Even so, this is one of my most highly anticipated movies because I grew up with the original and just love it. *pets his DVD*
 
Gene Wilder was awesome. The original was awesome.

Tim Burton and Johnny Depp are a winning combo though. Regardless of comparisons between the two, the new one is likely to be awesome.
