Nintendo is tops with me when it comes to their Warranty....see inside......

It was pretty cool. My one son has been having issues with his GBA Micro. His Micro lasts about 5 hours, compared to my other sons that lasts past 10 hours easy. They were both bought in January and charged about 8 times each. I swapped the batteries and the one Micro still drained the battery that fast. I call Nintendo and for $5.00 they send me a new one (probably refurbished) and extend my warranty another year. That is pretty cool! I gotta say, Nintendo has the best warranty out there!

wow. I know this is off topic but I used to have this thing called CYBIKO. It was like a pda type gameboy thing. It was pretty cool. You could chat and download free games and email people.... It was nice.

Anyways the charger would always cause problems and the battery life would always decrease rapidly. I would send it back and they would always send me a brand new CYBIKO.

Ares! You're lucky :O I was a Cybiko "freak" you could say. I loved that little thing. Except when it broke.

I went through 4 (FOUR!) Cybikos, and each one either 1. died before you could do anything or 2. the charge port inside the Cybiko was broken off.

Two of them I just discarded and bought another... but the other two I was getting tired of it so I went to repair. The first time, they sent me a new one... but the second time, I guess I got a bad representative. He said to send it in for repair, which I did. Costed about $30 to do so. And the unit itself was $50.

Guess what? A week later they went out of business. I never got that Cybiko back. I was ticked :(

As for DS's warranty, I had to pay $57 for a screen crack. Fun. It broke in my pocket when I wasn't even wearing those pants :P I guess I just have bad luck.\\

Congrats on your son's Micro, though. Those things are pretty cool.

yeah i loved my cybiko.
I never even talked to a rep on the phone. I just sent my broken one to the address and they sent me back a new one.

I should've tried that X_X

Yeah, Cybikos owned for chatting/email/etc. WAP browing wasn't awesome, though, and the good Multiplayer games (the shooters :P) were really laggy.

But the skating games were fun.

*Glances around* I think this board got hijacked.

Thanks! The reason we went with the Micro is that my sons are 6 (twins) and the Micro is great that if they scratch the screen, I just swap it for another one. That is great for small kids who do not know how to take care of things. Although, I have not had to swap the screen on either of the two yet. They are about as anal as me when it comes to games. :lol

That happened with my brother's GBASP. His battery all of a sudden stopped charging and it was only like a month old. I didn't even have the reciept and they still replaced it for free.

yeah... they send refurbished... but for $5? I thought they did that for no charge? or am I mistaken?

Anyway... let me know what condition the refurbished came back as... I am curious as to if the system looks new when it arrives. I got a few refurbished items before... one was a camera after I sent my new one back. It was a polaroid... and it came back looking used :( Some of the other refurbished items I had the same problems with.

Nintendo has, by far and large, the best customer service in the gaming industry.

Maybe because they are shipping it to me first and then sending me a pre-paid return label to ship the broken system back to them?!?!? Not sure!

that might be it.... oh well... $5 isn't bad :)

regardless... I agree they have the best customer service. I just don't like receiving refurbished items... AND I KNOW it is the policy of almost EVERY business out there. Doesn't mean I have to like it though :)

That's weird, when I got sent the replacement SP it was sealed in the box with all the original packaging and everything... Didn't look refurbished...

They said it may look new because it might have been one that was off the line that may have had a minor issue or one that was returned to the store within 90 days that had a minor issue. Hopefully it is nice or I will send it back. I just like that for the $5.00 Option I get an extended 1 Year Warranty with it that runs until August 22, 2007.

Sometimes almost too good. Back when Metroid Prime 2 came out, there was a glitch that would get you stuck about half-way through the game. Nintendo pretty mcuh said to give them a call, or a letter, etc. and they'd send you a memory card with a save from after this glitch.

Thing was, people kept calling in. It didn't take Nintendo too long to figure out that people were just bluffing and wanting free memory cards.

I believe they still offer the game save, but I think you now have to send in your old memory card with the save.
