Nintendo Power is going to far!!

in this months issue, they made a comment about "those oldschoolers who still use buttons for controls", well guess what, I am an oldschooler who prefers simple to inovative, sure its cool to see games like Yoshis T&G and DKJB, but controlling all games with the touch screen, thats goinging a bit to far dyt? I mean, SMB64 is almost impossible to control with the touchscreen, same with the racing games, I'm sorry but NP has GOT to get a grip on the new age thinks, they act like whenever a DS game like oh say, Super Princess Peach comes out, they will probably slam it for not having touch screen features (if it ends up not having any) even though it will probably be a decent platformer on its own, what happend to simple, button gameplay, pong anyone?

That is stupid, first respect the old schoolers last year with NES Classics....then slam them the next year....

Please remember, Nintendo Power is runned by kids who probably never owned an NES

it was something like this in a preview for Metroid Hunters
"we got a demo with the DS that had you choosing to slash aliens with the stylus, or control Samus with the stylus, there is an option of a buttons olny controlled game, but we still cant understand those old schoolers who use the regualar Dpad and fire buttons."
thats not a direct quote, but it was something like it.

Well first of all, it is a DS. Whats the point of releasing a game that doesnt utilize the touch screen. Second, yes I do agree that they shouldnt diss the oldschoolers. They are the ones who put Nintendo on the map. And finally third of all, dont get your panties in a bunch. All it is is someone else's "opinion", which means you have the right to disagree. No need to get all disgruntled. And finally, I said this once and Ill say it again, screw the new age. I play what I want to play and I dont care if its "new age" or not.

Also, remember they are paid staff as well so they HAVE to say things like that.

But yeah, I trust NP staff as much as I trust the strength and durability of a wet newspaper.

SM64 isn't that hard; I beat it with Touch mode. But, you DO still use buttons in it XD I've yet to see a game completely run by drawing.

I'd apperciate more coverage of upcoming games, better reviews (giving Star Wars 3 for DS an 8 is just BS) and FOR THE LOVE OF GOD don't devote 3 quarters of your magizine to stradegy guides, they have books for that!

-I rest my case ;)

Hey there is nothing wrong with strategy guides. Especially since they dont come at an extra charge with the magazine. But I will say that they should balance it out. I take it you've played Star wars 3. I havent so I dont know how accurate that review is.

actually... I was somewhat fond of Nintendo Power... it helped more than most magazines back in the day.
