Nintendogs Selling Outta Control
Who knew so many were too lazy to raise real pets?

Riding off the hype from Japan, Nintendogs is already becoming a repeat success in the US, too. It's only been available for a week, but Nintendo's reporting sales upwards of 250,000 units already - that's nearly 15% of total Nintendo DS owners! Holy crap!
Thankfully, the other major release for the system, Advance Wars: Dual Strike, doesn't seem to be completely lost in the shuffle; Nintendo says the game has quickly become one of the company's top sellers. They haven't released any sales data as of yet, however.

Right now, Nintendogs is even reportedly maintaining a solid position in the top three spots on Amazon.com's purchase list, and if this rides out like Nintendo's other phenomenon ideas, we're not even close to seeing this peak yet.

Also, for all you wanna-be dog owners, make sure to check out our sweet strategy guide for the game that ran last week.

They said that was 1/4 of all Ds owners? I thought more people bought DS's than that. 250,000 * 4 = 1,000,000 ... and there are definitely more than 1 milliion sold now.

Maybe I should get some cash up and buy this game :)

This game scares me. It seems so blatantly ridiculous. yet I see myself buying thisn game. Why?? I don't know. Maybe I'll be one of that 15%...

I'm pretty sure that I won't end up buying it, unless i see it somewhere for $1. Virtual pets are generally pretty boring... and the fact that i dont know anyone else with a ds makes it seem even more boring. Plus, i dont like dogs! Now if they did a hamster or cat or rabbit or something... then i may buy it for up to $30.

I thought about how a cat game like Nintendogs would work. What can you do with cats besides pet them and feed them? Ive owned cats and thats pretty much all I did with them. You cant really teach them tricks and dont always respond to your calls.

I had a few "3D Pets" a few years ago.. a dog, cat, alien and fish, and all of them you could teach tricks and play games with... they should make any other pets that they come out with do the same things only different types of things e.g. different tricks and different food and noises.
