No Kirby Game For the Wii

Despite Kirby's prominent appearance in the Wii's megaton title Smash Smash Bros. Brawl, Nintendo has no plans of giving the little pink vacuum cleaner his own game on the console, according to the UK's Official Nintendo Magazine.

In the magazine's Q&A section, Nintendo's official response is: "There are no plans right now for a Kirby game on Wii but there are plenty of Kirby fans out there, so in the meantime look out for Kirby in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Brawl which will be released in 2008."

Though Kirby has always been best suited to 2D side-scrolling adventures, we're still a bit remiss that Nintendo isn't considering any Wii love for the squishy mascot. We can't think of any clever waggle functionality, but wouldn't it just be fun to turn the Wii-mote on its side and let Kirby run free in a 2.5D adventure?

great it will give them time to think of better ideas (i guess XD) i hope they bring back the power fusion like crystal shards
 
A Kirby game done right on the Wii would be awesome, though.

Kirby's a pretty big franchise for Nintendo. I'm sure eventually they'll make a Kirby game for the Wii.
 
Love the picture, but i eat noobs and Hines, how can you hate them? They're short and easy, but they're really fun.
 
But seriously...they'll allow Catz, Hannah Montana, and a bunch of other crap on the Wii. Why not bring Kirby into the mix? It wouldn't hurt.
 
I kind of find this a bit hard to swallow. For quite a while, they were developing a new Kirby game for the GC, then it was pushed to the Wii. Now they cancelled it entirely?

Blargh. It was like a beefed up version of Kirby Superstar.
 
I don't see how Nintendo don't realize the possibilties for Kirby. He's a character that can swallow all kinds of crap and steal abilities, you could make a really good game from that.

Guess they're just being lazy repeating the same games over and over.
 
I bet they'll do it eventually...

I WOULD REALLY like to see a Kirby's Dream Land style game done for the Wii...
