nooooooo! EA bought BioWare.

calm down guys. it doesnt mean that EA suddenly will influence every single decision bioware makes in making games. they just get all the money from the games bioware makes.

EA is the equivalent of the gaming devil.

They'll probably end up rushing every single game Bioware makes so they can make a few more bucks. Bioware's games usually take years to develop, which is why they're usually so good, but I can't see that continuing now that money-hungry EA is at the helm. I hope most of Bioware's staff leaves and starts a new, independent company. *hugs Kotor and Baldur's Gate boxes and cries*

That can't happen, with the Mass Effect trilogy at least. Bioware had agreed to make all three games 360 exclusives. And I think Dragon Age is a guranteed PC exclusive too, but I'm not 100% on that. Beyond the games they have in development though, you're probably right.

:'( :'( :'(

Well honestly I'm not a huge fan of BioWare so this doesn't affect me. I just thought I'd bring it to the attention of people that are fans of BioWare :)

You know, the thought just occured to me: Bioware would be better off with Microsoft. At least they would have let them make a game how they wanted to, like they did with Bungie. Its better than EA constantly stepping in and doing what they think will make them the most money like they did with Westwood.

Yet MS did the same thing with Halo 2 and 3

As sad as it sounds, I still have more faith in Microsoft than I do EA. Idk, maybe Halo 2 was rushed a bit, and the single player wasn't what Bungie invisioned, but, for the most part, Bungie was relatively in control of their project.

I wonder how long it will be before EA decides to make their own console...

Really, if you think about it, how many consoles would Madden alone sell?

Back when EA first started out in the early '80s they were actually one of the coolest game development studios around, with an emphasis on quality over profit. Funny how things change.

I don't think they ever will. I think they were talking about it a while back, but then realized they could make more money through software.

And if they did make a console, I would never EVER buy it.

EA has announced about 10 new Bioware games will be coming out across about 3 years. Bioware usually makes one game a year, two at most. I guess EA's going for quantity over quality. :P

Hmm EA is one greedy mofo aren't they these days? It amazes me how powerful they have become over such a short period of time. To me, it's about as bad as ""Acclaim" was back in it's prime...when they produced so many titles and sports games.

However, unlike Acclaim, EA knows which market to target without failing. EA Skate is a prime example, how this "one of a kind" skater game turned into popularity over night it seems.

That's funny, because Peter Moore took over EA Games didn't he? Former Vice-Pres of Xbox team and Sega of America...He's a smooth dealer, but crooked as hell when it came to killing off Sega...
