Pac Pix

Well, just got this today. I wasn't sure if it was going to be dumb or cool. The storyline's really cute, and I think that's the best word for it. Graphics and music have a nice oldschool feel to them, and it's ridiculous how what you draw pretty much exactly comes to life. Every little deformity in the drawing stays with it. It's really interesting. That said, I'm on the second level, and it's really challenging. There's a boss there and I'm not exactly sure how to beat him. I think the game's going to end up being fun though.

Oh oh! I know how to beat that boss.

You have to draw Pac-Man with a really big mouth so that Pac-Man can swallow the bad guy. :D And it gets cool because the boss gets even bigger, so you have to draw Pac-Man's mouth even bigger each time.

I picked this game up yesterday. I've actually been waiting since last year's E3 for it to come out, since it was my favorite demo at E3, and even part of the reason why I got a DS. I'm really happy with how much they've done with it since then. It's more of a full-fledged game now. There's something like 8 chapters (or levels, if you will) and they each have different mechanics. So far I'm up to chapter 4, and it's interesting because there's ghosts that have shields, so you can't try to swallow them from the front (you'll just bounce off). So you have to sneak up on them from behind.

Well..haven't checked the boards in too long apparently. I figured out that boss pretty quick..but the last boss of the game I'm having trouble with. Do you know what to do there Mai?

No, actually I'm still stuck on Chapter 5. The arrow is a cool feature but it's hard to get all the ghosts in the time they allow you. I get through the first few stages of Chapter 5, but then there's one where there's like 10 ghosts, and you have to eat them in a certain order. I always run out of time before I can finish that level. I need to play it some more.

the arrows take some time for adjustment, as do the numbered ghosts. I love how they continue to add new cool elements through the game. so frickin' fun.

I thought this game would be REALLY bad, so I rented it to vomit on it, but to my surprise, I liked it. I ended up buying it, and, its just plain fun!

This was one of my favorite DS showings from E3 2004. I thought it highlighted some of the innovative abilities of the Nintendo DS. Short? You bet. Fun? Mucho yeso.

Yeah, that game was fun, short, and not really having great replay value. But it was cool and super innovative...I just never could figure out the last deal. Sigh.
