The results? Brandon Crisp, the 15 year old boy in question, was found dead :( He tried to run away from home. Brandon's funeral mass will be Friday in his home town of Barrie, Ontario. More than 1,000 are expected to attend.

Aww damn it that's not good news :-\ when i saw the topic title i was thinking "This sounds like some good news" guess not :(.

That is really too bad. A couple mistakes were made on both sides, and I don't think anybody wanted this as the result. Very tragic.

Saw this on the comments of Kotaku by a user called Omen. I think its incredibly crass, but accurate.

Allow child to play video games to the point of obsession, check.

Use that obsession as a tool of punishment by denying him access, check.

Daddy calls emotionally immature boys bluff about running away fmor home, check.

Kid dies, check.

Parents blame everyone else except themselves, check.

Yeah that's pretty much how it is, in a very blunt way to say it.

I think a lot of people don't realize that a game is not always "just a game." this does not apply only to video games either. A lot of people have a hobby, a habit, or a past time of some sort that makes them feel important, or makes life meaningful to them. It can be really hard to understand it if you don't have the same feelings towards whatever it is...and that is the mistake I think the parents made. I don't think they are to blame at all, but that they just did not realize how important stuff was to him.

My thoughts on the whole situation... Well, MS acted in a very commendable way. But the whole situation could have been avoided by some better parenting skills.
