I think if I was going to criticize Nintendo for anything, it would be that they keep games at $50 for WAY too long. I mean, WW is awesome and everything, and it's a franchise title, but it's been out over a year and it's still $50. I think at this point Nintendo should just suck it up and at least lower it to $30. And I'm still waiting for Super Mario Sunshine to hit $19.99. (Has it yet? :lol )

But really I don't think any Player's Choice games should be $29.99, because PS2's Greatest Hits line of games and XBOX's Platinum Hits line of games are all $19.99. They should be equal.

What games do you think should be Player's Choice but aren't yet?

Metroid should be players choice by now, as should Wind Waker.

I like player choice but I have a problem with the fact that they make the cases look different. But i'm obsessive and like the original look of most things. I only have one platinum game on my PS2, but that's OT.

Metroid is a Player's Choice game where I live. I said maybe because there are a lot of Player's Choice games already. WW is $30 in my area also. I know Super Mario Sunshine is either $20 or $30 here. All of the Player's Choice games where I am cost $20. The only game I think should be Player's Choice is Viewtiful Joe. Then I'd definitely get it.

I actually like non-players choice games. Non-players choice (the same with non-ghits games) are always worth more down the road.

just my 2 cents :)

I never can wait for a game that long anyway :lol

Yeah, actually I agree with both of those. I do prefer the original box art more. And usually, for the AAA games I pick them up at launch or shortly thereafter anyway.

I think, though, that if there more Player's Choice games, then the GC would be more enticing for people getting consoles for the first time, or for people shopping for a second console. It's so easy to buy a PS2 and get a bunch of great games for $20 to start out with. I mean GTA3, Vice City, FFX, MGS2: Sons of Liberty, and Gran Turismo 3 are all $20. That's really a draw for people buying their first PS2.

On the GC, there's not as much. I think more people would give the GC a second look if they knew they could pick up more of GC's best games for just $20. I like the $20 pricepoint myself....I don't know if I would have picked up Luigi's Mansion if it was one of the $30 Player's Choice games, but at $20 I figured I wouldn't lose much if I didn't like it, so I got it and ended up loving it. Animal Crossing brand new is a $30 Player's Choice, and I know that one for a fact would sell better at $20. I paid full price when it came out and it's worth it, but other people are not as willing to take chances on games, you know?

Good games at low prices, ain't nuthin wrong with that.

I remember I waited for months for Mario Golf to drop in price, but here (Canada) the price went down from $74.96 to $39.99, I was hoping it would come down to $29.99 at least, so I'm still waiting on that one...

I know they are not... and its silly because people do not understand that players choice games do not retain their resell value as well...

I don't know.... but thats why I do not like players choice/ghits/platinum "whatever" :)

IF you look at Symphony of the Night for the PSX.... the ghits version is about $15-25 new. The original version is $40-60 new.... because it is harder to find now.

Yeah, but the thing is, unless I'm REALLY hard up for cash sometime in the future, chances are I'm not going to trade in or sell my favorite games anyway, so the resale value is a non-issue.

you'd be surprised at circumstances in life that make you sell your games.

my buddy..... never thought he would have to, and I am helping him selling his collection right now.

FM Towns Marty games..... I am talking games that are worth $80-250 each. Same thing with the Neo Geo AES and CD....

no one can say what will happen 10 years from now :)

but...like I said, I cannot wait for "players choice" so I buy original anyway.
