Portal 2 Question

ThravRande

Darth Revan is watching you.
If I were to buy this game used, would I be able to play online? I know PS3 copies came with PC vouchers, but I don't need/couldn't use one anyway. All I'm concerned about is being able to play with PC users. Help?

You should be able to buy it used and just play it. No online pass or anything.

As far as I know PS3 users can play with PC users all the time. Not just limited copies or whatever.
If I recall correctly, it just asks you to log into Steam on PS3 and then boom, you're there.

Never done it myself of course, but I read a lot about it right before/shortly after it released.

As long as the physical copy is not linked to a Steam account, yes. If the physical copy has been registered to Steam, then I think it would be a problem.

If you buy it used, make sure the shop has a return policy that can help you if it has been registered to another account.

There's no way to unlink from an account?
I mean, I have Portal 2 on Steam already, I just preordered it on Steam, I didn't get it on PS3.

I believe that you actually need to buy the PS3 version specifically to play it on the PS3. You could contact Valve and ask though.
