Hey, welcome to the boards!

Sorry, I've never messed with mod chips before. Did you make sure not to damage anything while installing it? And when you removed it, did you make sure to remove all the solder you used to put it there?

Also, is the chip you have for your PS2 model?

Installing a modchip when you don't know exactly how to do it is an easy way to kill a PS2. If it was a solder-mod, there could be a problem with the solder. If you didn't remove the solder properly, that could be your problem. If it was a solderless mod, it sounds like your bios could be corrupted.

Also, try opening the PS2 up again and check all the connections. One loose wire could also do that.

I had a friend try to sodder a mod chip into my old psone. Boy that didnt go well. Luckily I worked around the problem.

ehh, you probly shouldn't have messed with your PS2. The xbox is much easier to mod for some reason and there's a lot more stuff about it on the internet. I've recently been doin some research with hard modding on my xbox and about to start my little project.

Ever seen the inside of an Xbox? It looks JUST like a laptop computer. Even the hard drive is something you'd stick in a PC.

I have ALWAYS wondered...when my Xbox dies eventually, can I swipe the graphics card out of it?

:lol

Seriously though...I wonder if it would go in with special wiring or something....

UPDATE:

Apparently, the video card is built into the motherboard, thus shooting down anychance of using it in a PC.

:'(

I just sell the damn thing when it crokes, and all the games and buy a new card for the ultimate gaming format:

PC!

i posted a topic about a ds card in which you have to mod your ds to run

and it got locked

i better see the same here, soon, and i'm not joking
