PSP Canadian price - and people say *Nintendo* gouges!

ummm...

250 US dollars are equivalent to 300 Canadian Dollars...

I think that was my point. Isn't $150 US dollars also equivalent to $200 Canadian dollars? So if the DS is $150 in the US and $200 in Canada, Nintendo is not gouging. You'd have to read the other topic to get this post though. It's a bit of a joke, really.

i don't think you understand, the minimum wage in Canada is more than it is here. so they make 10-12 dollars an hour insted of 7-10 dollars an hour.

its all proportional.

Its not that we dont understand, it's that some of us didnt know that. Thanks for clearing it up.

don't point the finger neph....

you brought it on yourself. You ridiculed almost every member here.... and then you wonder why they started treating you like a punk....
and the funny thing is.... they weren't near as crappy either.

I stuck up for you before... but I think you got what was coming.... all they did was do the same things that you do... except not as mean.

For the last 4 months, you have not had more than a handful of nice (non-spiteful) posts.

If you don't want to come back... that's fine... but if you do want to come back.... please be civil and you will have no problems, plus I will stick up for you.

ummm minimum wage here is $6.50 canadian

Ack. This is so not what I was going for.

Look people, all I'm saying here is:

The PSP is $100 more than the DS in both countries.

US
DS = $150
PSP = $250

Canada
DS = $199
PSP = $299

That's it. Make what you will of that, but that's the only point I was trying to make. :lol

Forgive me Mai, but as a Canadian I have to say something...

As Xbox Freak already pointed out, minimum wage here is under 7 dollars. Currency exchanges are proportional, but what people don't understand is that the richest 10% of the population of a country own about 80% (probably more) of that nation's wealth. What this means is that a guy working a blue collar 9-5 desk job in Canada making 15$ an hour would be getting paid the same wage if he did the same job in America, except his 15$ would be worth more. Because his earnings are so small they are not affected by currency exchanges, or if they are it's some miniscule number like a 100th of a cent. If the Canadian dollar makes a leap of 65 cents to 75 cents to the American dollar (which it did), then your average worker will not see a cent more on his paycheck, it will just mean he can afford to buy more when he takes a trip to the United States.

I know that's beside the point, but I wanted to clear up this "minimum wage" debocle.

On the subject at hand:

Yeah I'm sure you're thrilled about it too.

I haven't posted because some people on this forums were being obnoxious punks. And Blue just stood there and laughed.

Since I stopped posting, I sold my Cube and bought an Xbox.

Screw the lot of you.

If there was an emoticon that saluted, I would be using it. $150 American is roughly $200 Canadian (about 70-75 cents to the dollar), but $250 American would be some obscure number, like $312 or 320 or something like that. I think they just rounded down so it looked better.

Comparing the PSP and the DS is like comparing a PS2 to a shoe. there is no comparison. DS has WiFi multiplayer and the PSP has Infrastructure (online play against anybody with a wireless router). The PSP can even go on the inernet with the pirated update that is pretty much all over the web, an the DS cannot. The DS in my eyes doesnt even come close!

Sorry, but its far from a shoe especially since Nintendo is already putting up wireless access just like the PSP. That pirated update isn't going to be around much longer since the firmware is being updated with certain games that you buy. Once the new year rolls around the DS can do what the PSP can, except for the graphics, but the graphics on the DS itself are pretty good. Not to mention the price of some of the extra stuff like bigger Memory cards are going to cost even more. Also the DS has the entire Game Boy Advance library behind it. So as far as games go the PSP doesnt come close, and as far as Im concerned games are what matter the most. I didnt buy a PSP just to watch movies or to listen to MP3's. I bought it to play games.
