RE4: Chap 2-3 .... which path did you take? (Spoilers)

I just got through most of 2-3.

2-3 is the part (right after the cabin siege) where there is two paths, one with El Gigante and the other with those crazy chainsaw freaks. Ugh. I died so many times it's disgusting. Every time I tried to take the path with the chainsaws, I got my head sawed off. And every time I tried to get past El Gigante, I either died because he killed Leon or because he killed Ashley. Both were mostly a result of me running out of ammo for the shotgun and TMP.

What I ended up having to do was go through the left path (chainsaws), kill most of the people, jump into one of the pits to get ammo (esp. for the shotgun), and then leave without jumping into the pit that triggers the cutscene with the crazy chainsaw people. After I got some ammo and herbs, I went back out, flipped the switch for the path with El Gigante, and went that way. Now that I had more shotgun shells, I was able to kill El Gigante and get through that part.

Man, I wish the merchants sold ammo. >:(
 
I only tried this once, and I took the path with the chainsaw women. It took me two tries, mostly cause I forgot to tell Ashley to hide one time and she got killed, but I thought it was fairly simple. I just jumped into the pit to trigger the cutscene, then climbed back out, ran back a bit, and began shotting the chainsaw chics with the shotgun ..eventually they fell.

I figure I'll try the next path after I beat the game and go back through it again. Right now I'm on chapter 5-3 so I'm thinking I'm pretty close...seems like I read in a review somewhere that there was 6 chapters..not sure though. Have you beaten it yet Mai?

He's dead now though, had to waste my rocket on him... but he's dead... I die a lot on this game for some reason.

I bought the rocket once...used it on one of the very last bosses..it seemed a waste to me. I died alot too until I got my weapons upgraded good enuff..somewhere shortly after where your at in the game it got alot easier for me.
 
Well, I'm a little bit through the castle. The part where you have to protect Ash as she turns those two levers. That was an intense part for me, but got past it. I hate head pop things...

LMAO yeah they are annoying as can be.
 
I missed one area where the crows are sittng on the fountain where Ashley unlocks the door. :(
I passed the Tower area & I am almost done beating it. :woot

I hope that Resident Evil 5 will be hecka big & bring the zombies & monsters. :o :woot

I'm with him. While I do love the fact that there is no zombies in this game (Made a nice change) in RE5 I think they should bring them back. Have the same type of gameplay though. Just think about it... over 100 zombies trying to get at you. The thought alone blows me away...
