RESIDENT EVIL 5 announced for....

MegaDrive20XX

Segatron Genesis... call me the wizard.
PS3 and Xbox 360...

Capcom announced Biohazard 5 / Resident Evil 5 for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the director will be Jun Takeuchi, and a number of original Biohazard development staffs will be involved. The story will continue from where Biohazard 4 left off, and the control scheme will be based on Biohazard 4 as well.

Man..I thought it was going to be annoucned for GC. Well glad that they're going to use the same controls as the 4th installment, but I hope it isn't kinda' of straight forward like it was, I mean there's rarely backtracking at all. Btw, is that an screenshot of the game? If so, then who is that?

Edit: I haven't been on Magicbox in so long, totally forgot all about that site. :-\

what... no cube support? The punks sell over 500K + on the Gamecube (which is very good ) and they don't offer it for the REV.

Capcom... you suck.
One of my favorite companies.... decides to blow once again.

ok... but how stupid is Capcom?

they sell 500K of a title on a system... and yet won't give it more titles?  How :hh Stupid :hh do :hh you :hh get

They sit there and take Gamecube games and put them on the PS2 (I am almost willing to be the ps2 RE4 doesn't sell as much as the Gamecube's).... but won't give the Gamecube other titles such as Devil May Cry... and whatever.

I don't know... it frustrates me to see stupid stunts like that.   Capcom claims they HAVE to port their games to Sony to make their Shareholders happy... but wouldn't it make them just as happy having more games across all systems.

Is it me... or do large companies have very very very stupid business strategies?  Very few of them make sense.

I agree, but when you have a popular franchise, it's all about money, who can shell out the most for their beloved product sadly..

Just because Capcom did not announce the RE5 will be for Revolution does not mean it will not be on the Revolution. Maybe they just didn't announce it because there is so little information about the console itself. Chances are that RE5 will be ported to the Revolution. Just because it was not announced at the same time as the others does not mean it will not be on it.

I'd like to know then why Nintendo is not in there.

They shelled out enough to get exclusivity on many Capcom products....  and they are selling tons of games for them.

@ Fatty: I sure hope your right on that one..... Capcom would be very stupid to write off Nintendo when RE 4 sold so well.
It should show them that when they make a good game, the Nintendo fans will buy.

Now I have to buy a whole new console just to play the new RE, this is what kind of things I hate!

Guys, remember though, Xbox got no love from Capcom this generation. I think the only games Capcom made for the Xbox were fighting games, when I could easily see games like Resident Evil: Outbreak (XBL anyone?) and Devil May Cry doing well.

@ bman... I know... its annoying.... just look at soul calibur 3, its Sony exclusive now because they bought it (guess they couldn't handle the cube's version out selling them :lol )

@ spartan..  Xbox got love from enough companies.  What I don't get is that many of the Xbox games sold LESS on the Xbox and more on the Gamecube (burnout 2 for example) and yet, EA and many other companies won't give the Cube the time of day.

I guess this is just the way things are going to be... which is why I love being a PC gamer.  No drama with retarded companies.

Sourches are pointing, that RE5 will be the return of Chris Redfield...

True, but Code Veronica didnt really explain the aftermath much at all...all we knew was Claire and Chris were on their way

@ BV Eventually though console gaming will be so similar to PC gaming they will be almost indistinguisable from each other. Not the next gen, or even the gen after that, but someitme down the line...

I hope not... otherwise console gaming may not be around much longer.

What would be the purpose of a console?

Get much closer, and games / systems would be upgradeable all the time like PC's... and probably cost as much. So there would be no reason to be with a console anymore.

Exactly. I mean, this generation took consoles much closer to PCs, although there is a long way to go. Consoels are now pretty much made of PC parts, and successful additions such as voice chat and online play, copying/playing CD's, and hard drives to name a few things.

:lol Well the Revolution is off to a good start with third parties...

I'd check your sources on that BV. Although I do believe Burnout 2 may have sold better, I very much doubt EA sold more copies of Madden on the GC than on the Xbox. Burnout 2 was a minor title, the big franchises that EA backs are their sports titles. The GC controller and low capacity memory cards ensured that those types of games would not sell well. I'd like to know what other titles sold better on the Cube than on the Xbox.

I'm sure Nascar '05 would have sold a lot better on the Cube if Link was in the driver's seat, but that doesn't mean its a good idea. Prostituting out Nintendo franchises to sell games is not only effective, but completely morally reprehensible. I'm sure SC3 on the PS2 will sell amazingly well without having to add in Crash Bandicoot as a playable character.

Is it me... or do large companies have very very very stupid business strategies?

You mean like making games for everyone because it has the "broadest selling range" when in reality it narrows the field of prospective buyers? Or keeping every game a complete secret so that no one has a chance to get excited about it? No, you're probably not talking about those. I think Capcom has made the right decision. They know what their target audience is, and they're making business decisions on best delivering games to them. If anything, they're a little late in jumping ship. I mean, what does Nintendo have left, Silicon Knights? Nope. Rare? Nope. I hope you Revolution buyers really like Nintendo games, cuz it looks more and more like that's all you're going to get.

Well first of all I love Zelda so that pretty much means that im going to own a revolution. Second as far as prostituting franchises I think that SC3 is an exception simply because each console had its own special character. I believe the PS2 had King from Tekken if im not mistaken. But normally yes I would have to agree with you on that one.
