Rock Band on PS2!

blacklemons

The Freeman
Leipzig is on, and Harmonix and Electronic Arts are setting things off by announcing Rock Band for the European market, along with ten new tracks. Not surprisingly, they've also announced that Rock Band will be making its way to the PlayStation 2, featuring "new game elements specific to the platform," which they've not revealed.

The ten tracks (all masters) include:

Rolling Stones “Gimme Shelter,” Deep Purple "Highway Star," The Clash “Should I Stay or Should I Go,” Faith No More "Epic,” Smashing Pumpkins “Cherub Rock,” Radiohead “Creep,” Beastie Boys “Sabotage,” Jet “Are You Gonna Be My Girl,” OK Go “Here It Goes Again,” and Nine Inch Nails “The Hand That Feeds.”

What's really interesting (and kind of disappointing) is that two of those tracks were already announced for Rock Bands "competitor," Guitar Hero III -- both "Sabotage" and "Cherub Rock" both appear in Activisions guitar title. Additionally, the Stroke's "Repilia" will also be featured in both games.

shall it be wireless?

:o emmm i think 200 for a band game is too much. how much is guitar hero ? XD

$200 for all the instruments. It'll really hurt sales, at some level. Guitar Hero III is $90/$100? Or was it $80/$90?

Yeah. Having all the instruments won't hurt sales at all. If anything, it'll help spur sales even further. I'm going with the 360 version for downloadable content.

@fhq, i believe the wii version is the cheapest, no?
Yeah, that's why I did the $80/$90 or $90/$100. It's one of those two, with the Wii being the cheaper one.
