with the coming of the new gaming sytems.... should I give Revolution, PS3, and Xbox 2 their own forums?
OR should I make Revolution with Gamecube? and Xbox 2 with Xbox? Ps3 with Ps2/Psx...etc?

OR should I just split them out now because they will have heavy conversation in them later?

my vote is giving them their own respective forums.

but ... what about when the "release dates..etc." are set?

then we'll have to transfer all the posts then.

I voted tyes, BUT at the same time... I am having a hard time giving in 1 way or another. That is why there is a poll now :)

I just don't want the other sections getting cluttered with to many different category discussions.... and as you can see... I don't think it works real well with the "sega sections."

I think they should be separate, since they are new. Maybe you should just have one catergory for all the older gens of systems, and a forum for the current generation.
 
I think they should get separate forums. Like you said, they'll end up with tons of posts in them later on and you'd have to split them anyway, most likely. Save yourself some time! ;)

Also, it would be easier that way to know when new information is posted. Instead of checking out the GC forum and being like, "Oh, cool, there's info on the Revolution! What a surprise!" I could just look at the Revolution forum and see that someone made a new post there. You know what I mean? :D
 
I would say keep the forums together until the day the consoles are launched. I wouldn't concern yoursef with switching over the topics or anything like that, just keep whatever Revolution topics that are in the GC forum in the GC forum, but make sure that any new topics relating to that are put in the new one. Don't bother splitting them up for awhile anyway.

I also agree with Spartan with the "new generation; old generation" idea. I don't really think of GC as a GC forum, just a place to talk about current Nintendo news, so until the Revolution launches I'd like to see it remain that way.
 
Agreed...........not yet, there wont be very many posts for a while


Then again.......you could go with something like an "Xbox2, Revolution, PS3" forum :p
 
I dunno, I mean, we still talk about the future of GC in the GC forum, and the future of Nintendo, games we'd like to see on some future Nintendo console, etc.
 
I want to at least split the 3 forums out... I do not want them combined together.. meaning with competing systems.

so, I guess the question still is.... Morph "revolution with gamecube" OR Make the Revolution in its own forum.

Keep them together until the Revolution launches. Leave all Revolution posts previous to that date in the GC forum, but make sure all posts on and after that date are in the new one.
