It seems to me that even if this forum is called "Game Addicts", how come you haven't heard about the newest games? I've mentioned a lot of great games already on dozens of posts, and I get pretty much the same answer every single time. In the strange case you have actually heard about the game, you haven't actually played it. :?

I'm from what we old people call, "the 80's and 90's"
Thats my excuse..I rarely play newer games unless its something exceptionaly good, which seems to happen about 3-4 times a year now on average.

I just find it a bit strange that so many of you haven't heard of so many games, that's all.

I hear about them (it's my job) but I don't care about 90% of games. I don't have the time or money to play all of them, so I just try to focus on the ones I'm sure I will enjoy. Of course there's always a game or two that comes around and surprises me but that doesn't happen often.

No, it's easier to play Mercenaries if you want to blow the hell out of everything. :D

But with all the mercs talk, isn't it time to try it and see what the fuzz is all about? :D

Quite frankly, my favorite games are still from the SNES and original PlayStation days. Sure, I play some N64, Gamecube, PS2 and Xbox games, but I don't buy games nearly as often as I used to.

A lot of the games I have for my Gameboy Advance SP reflect that as well. Many are ports, remakes or sequals of older 16 & 32 bit games that I loved a decade ago.

I miss "Ant Attack!" on ZX Spectrum. The entire plot is something like one boy and his sister travel to some strange town in the desert somewhere, and one of them gets kidnapped by giant ants. I say one of them because you could select which one you want to play as. The game itself are basically wandering around in the town looking for your brother or sister, depending on who you play as, and blow the crap out of ants using hand grenades. That's the entire plot, and that's the beauty of it. That was fun.

And as a geeky side note, this is rated the very first 3D game ever made. 8)

Am I qualified to post in this topic? I was born in '86. I think people dont know about the new and upcomming games because they dont check out gamming website and read the updated news. I think most of the people just hear or see about the game on a Tv commercial or through a friend. You do have to remember that people do have lives other than video games, I do get tired of them and just want to chill out and watch tv, etc.

See this is how I feel toward the news game, I dont care about the games that come out half of the time, but I do look for the ones that look interesting and worth playing.

I personally stay away from the trends. I have found some games that people have labeled as a waste of money that I have really enjoyed playing. I have also been laughed at by younger gamers who have only seen the old game consoles in pictures and they wonder why I have them and collect games for them.

All I can say is bummer. The most I have every paid for a game was $28. Average is $15.
On the more expensive ones, I just wait untill I can buy them used!!
I guess I'm stuck on the 20th century, in between 1985 and 1995.

*hugs the Silent Hill girl* I got new best friend ^_^

I really don't have any interest in games coming out now, and the olny games I'm planning on buying this year are Sly 3, Kingdom Hearts 2, Namco Mueseum (PSP) and GTA: Liberty City Stories (don't have a cube or else I'd buy Zelda also) theirs just nothing coming out that really excites me.

Some people dont understand that without Mario, Sonic, Tetris, and any older games basicaly made the games today! Without them we wouldn't have a wide variety.
