Well, so I tried Cold Fear the other day. It sucked. I mean the ship itself are great, and the moving deck and all that? And timing your movement so the sea won't wash you overboard? Superb. So why the heck did they put it on a whaler? After exploring both rooms, there really isn't much more to do. And not being able to save really didn't help either. Geez. Why not put it on a cruise ship at least, sort of like the Titanic? (perhaps give us the real reason the Titanic sank in the first place... ) 8)

But with that in mind, how good is Resi Evil 4? I don't have a Cube, and really, really don't want any. But Resi for ps2 - any good? I can't wait.

And while we're at it, what about Predator? Is it freeroaming like GTA and Mercs, or just free-roaming wannabe like The Getaway? I hate that game. Love Mercs, though. It's brilliant. Even makes San Andreas boring.

Sucks that Cold Fear is crappy, some games that I buy I just feel deceived. Now I want Resident Evil 4 as well and I have a GC, just purchased one 3 weeks ago and didn't realize its a pretty console, just needs some games of my taste. *got a GC just for the RE games*

Anyways, from the ratings in magazines and online Resident Evil 4 seems like a pretty awesome game! No doubt about it! I like how you can aim at the zombies manually and shoot what part of the body, awesome Capcom!

The engine used in Cold Fear and Resi 4 are pretty much the same. Sure Resi4 takes place and land and thus lacks things like the waves and all that, but the engine are quite good. You normally walk around just like in any other Resi games, but you aim "over the shoulder". This might sound stupid, but it really works. If you can lock the view like in Cold Fear, it also mean you can play more or less in first-person as well as in standard, locked-camera third person. I can't wait. But buying a console just to get a game that's going to be released (and updated) on PS2 anyway? Uh, no thanks. ;)

How do you know thats it going to be updated on PS2? I got GC just for the RE games and the new Zelda that's comming soon.

I don't know it, but I seriously doubt it would take six months to convert a game from one console to the other if you don't make any changes. The two versions will of course be more or less the same, with the biggest changes in the background. (as in bugfixes and such.) Second, it would be a good thing to see how the fans reacted to the GC version and then update the PS2 version. If the GC version are too hard, reduce the difficulty in the PS2 version a bit. Or if it's too easy, increase the difficulty. Are there too many health packs around, remove some. It's only small changes, but they will be there.

Oh those kind of updates, I get what your getting at now. Well I still haven't gotten the game for GC yet, been tied up playing NFSU2 online, so addictive to me! Im just amazed at how RE4 looks! I watched some videos over at GameSpot, with each video clip of the game I get more and more anxious to get it!

Some say Cold Fear are just a Resi4 rip-off, but that makes me want Resi4 even more. When I started Cold Fear, I thought "wow..." Then I learned how to aim, and loved even more. I fell in love after the first wave hit me, and the first headshot partly made me sick, partly made me want to play even more. (shortly put, think "Scanners".) After a while I tried to save, but learned that you can't. :o Or you can, sort of. You walk through a door after some a "key-point" or something, and are asked to save. That's the only chance you have. It ruined Splinter Cell, and they still haven't learned. Even worse, the whaler are rather small, so to increase the game length, all you do is run back and forth between the same rooms all the time. Plus a key-door are handily locked, so you have to walk around the entire ship to get to the next room? Geez.

Point is it would be brilliant if we didn't have those mistakes, and Resi4 looks, feels and sounds better. :D

But while we're on the topic, can you tell me why they call it Resident Evil 4? I mean 1 to 3 are easy to understand. Then we got Code: Veronica X, starring Claire Redfield from Resi 2. She's continuing her search for her brother, so it's a direct sequel to her Resi 2 story. Then there was Resi Zero, starring the lovely Rebecca Chambers from Resi 1. I know it's a prequel, so I can understand that Zero part. It's even on GC, so we can think of it as a spin-off to some point like Outbreak, Survivor and Dead Aim. But shouldn't Leon's story be Resi 5? :? Code Veronica even had the same engine as the others, after all.
