http://apnews.myway.com//article/20050107/D87FEOQ80.html

and check this part out:
"It's amazing how fast things have gone back to normal. The Thais have done a brilliant job of organizing disaster efforts and getting things cleaned up," said Peter Elsey, 48, an English tourist who lives in Singapore and owns a house in Phuket.

Hehe, I checked Weather.com and it's there :D

Apparently there's also a city called "Mianus." I heard of one in Delaware, and one in Connecticut.

How is that pronounced? do you know?

I am curious as to how phuket is pronounced....

My sister has been to Phuket with her bf (now ex) a few years ago. We have a fridge magnet from there, it's kind of amusing.

And yes, it's pronounced "foo-ket".

Yeah, but Intercourse is an Amish town in the middle of Amish country, and they sell numerous t-shirts, keychains, etc. with large words that say "I LOVE INTERCOURSE" on them. The letters "PA" are there as well, but so small that it's almost not noticable.

Considering the reasons most US businessmen go to Thailand and SouthEast Asia in general...the name is kinda fitting don't you think?
