Something you've always wanted....

Many of you may not know me, but I used to be quite an active member on these forums. Sadly college and a career have gotten in the way of me posting anything as of late, though I have lurked around quite a bit here and there. Today I come asking a question for all of you.

As an aspiring game developer, I'm trying to get an opinion on this from as many people as possible to diversify my answers and to really get a grasp of what gamers are truly looking for. My question to all of you is this: if you could name one or two things that you've always wanted to see done in video games or have previously seen though you feel it could be improved what would that/they be? Forum appropriate of course.

Game changing decisions. Plural.
Not like, one alternate ending, like, accidentally killing a certain civilian could change the outcome of the game. Instead of the typical good/bad/meh endings, have many good, bad, and meh endings.

And on top of that, upon completion of the game, it would be cool if you were told what all you did that had a negative effect on your playthrough, etc.

I would like to see "arcade style game design" become a genre for the home consoles. The arcade influence in the consoles of the 80s and 90s is what keeps me into that retro gaming period.

Great ideas everyone, I'll keep those in mind and naturally keep everyone posted on the progress as I'm allowed to - don't want to give anything away!
