Officially codenamed "Xenon," Microsoft's next-generation Xbox game console is expected to ship in late 2005. The console will feature a custom-made IBM processor and a new ATI graphics processing unit as well as system chips from SIS.

Processor: IBM Processor

Graphics Processor: ATI VPU

The PlayStation 3 is the highly anticipated next-generation Sony game console expected to be released in 2005. The new system will feature the Cell processor jointly developed by IBM, Sony, and Toshiba and an Nvidia graphics processor.

Processor: Cell Processor

Graphics Processor: Nvidia GPU

Few details are known about Nintendo's next-generation console, other than the codename and the fact Nintendo is aiming to push gameplay innovation over hardware performance.

Processor: IBM "Broadway" CPU

Graphics Processor: ATI "Hollywood" GPU

not much will be known until e3 .. man i say hold out and wait for the ps3.. but if you got the money yeah go ahead and get it.. but i been doin my homework on the cell processor ;)

Actually Xbox's official name right now is the Xbox 360.

PS3 is going to use Blu-ray discs. Blu-ray are discs that hold a lot more than traditional DVD's and have some other capabilities also.

Other than that there arent much details. I think that Nintendo, Sony and MS dont want to reveal too much until the time is right.

I don't. It was just a joke. They used to say that during the frenche revolution. (some older people like me actually know that.)

You could pick up a small object called a "history book" and check?  :lol (oh, and both my spanish and french is really bad.)

Well see the problem is I dont have a history book. So I thought I would ask you but nevermind.

Oh. Then I should mention they said something like "Viva la France!" back then as well, meaning something like "Hail to France!" or similar. I assume "Viva la revolution" means something "Hail to the revolution" or something, but again, my french is really bad.

Thanks but the word "viva" is spanish for live. So I was wondering what the proper translation was. But I forgot that I do have google so ill check that out.
