Square Enix Asks For DS Opinions
Which series should the company bring to Nintendo's portable?

July 28, 2004 - Square Enix is apparently interested in the opinion of its most hardcore fans when it comes to the Nintendo DS. The company's latest Game Boy Advance release, Final Fantasy I - II Advance, set to hit Japanese retail this Thursday, will include a send-in survey that asks buyers for their opinion regarding Nintendo DS support.

Specifically, the survey asks responders to select which game they'd like to see released on DS, with possible answers including Final Fantasy III, Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy V, Final Fantasy VI, the Seiken Densetsu (Secret of Mana) series, the Saga series, Chrono Trigger, Hanjuku Heroes and Chocobo.
The inclusion of this survey is surprising for two reasons. First, we don't recall having seen such a survey in a previous title from the company. In addition to that, the mere fact that the company is asking for opinions on the DS, which at the time of the survey's production didn't even have an official name, is a bit unexpected.

We presume the results of the survey will be determined when Square Enix officially announces its first title for the Nintendo DS.

It's so great that Square Enix is supporting the DS.  :woot I would love any of those series' to be on the DS.

::D insanity ! and cool!

um... hm... will that card come to the US and ask us as well :D

now... they just need to support the cube more :D

Holy crap! If they ported over or made another addition to the Secret of Mana series I think I'd buy a DS just for that. Seriously, I've been dieing for a good Secret of Mana game since Seiken Densetsu 3, and no I don't consider either Sword of Mana or Legend of Mana to be a good use of the license.

I have a burned copy of one of the Seiken Densetsu soundtracks. Friend handed it over to me. I thought the Seiken Densetsu (3 I believe) that I played on SNES was wonderful. Never really had too much time to play it considering I never owned a SNES, but it was fun while it lasted.

I absolutely loved it. Though I, like most, never got to play it on a Snes, as it would have to be imported, and I'd have to learn Japanese.
