Come on people, this game deserves it's own hype thread too!

October 1st is when it comes out over here, and i'm suddenly very excited about it. Definately asking Santa for it this year.

Is it's out in the U.S. has anyone played it?
 
I don't have it. I'm still thinking about it. From what I understand, the Star Ocean series is kind of a sister series to the Tales games. IE they were all one team at one time and then they split up, and some went to work on the Tales team while the others went to work on the Star Ocean team. So they share a lot of the same stuff.

I did get to play a little bit of it at E3. The dungeon I was in was a little bland but the battles were interesting. If I recall correctly, they are set up the same as Tales of Symphonia.
 
I liked Star Ocean 2 a lot, but I think I'll wait a while for Star Ocean 3 to go down in price before I buy it. I still have several RPGs I haven't played through yet anyway... Need to finish those.
 
Has anyone actually played this game yet?
I was wondering if I should buy it, as it seems to have the same battle system as Grandia II. Which IMO is the best RPG available!
 
I haven't yet played it, but I hear that it's got one of the best battle systems in an RPG.

I hear ya John, I still have Dark Cloud 2 to beat, which is very long if you want to milk it for everything.
 
:) I Have Star Ocean 3: Till the End of Time and it is a
very nice RPG and i have gotten really far on it. :woot

I haven't beaten Dark Cloud 2 yet because i can't seem to
figure out how to pass the glowing barrier's through out
the rest of the game though. I am really stuck on the game. :'(

I also have the Dark Cloud 2 Strategy Guide Book too. :lol :)

I just wish that the weapons wouldn't break though. >:( :'( :lol :D
 
I have it and loved it. After about thirty hours I'm still only on disc 1, and even then I haven't bothered leveling up much or exploring too much. I'd say it would take me at least 100+ hours to beat it, maybe longer. The problem is the bugs. It crashed after five minutes, and kept crashing every ten minutes for almost an hour. After that I played for three hours, but then it crashed again. And again. And again. But maybe you are luckier than me.

Or to put it short: If the game didn't have this many bugs, I'd give it 9/10. With the bugs, 6/10.
