Steam's summer sale!

Completely spaced and missed the AC:Revelations Flash Deal. I hope it comes back. I like flash deals but I wish it wasn't for big franchises. That's pretty much all I'm looking for. I think I have everything I want right now.

OH! Arma II so that I can try that Day Z mod.
 
Though it was the starter pack that got my attention, I just downloaded the Free-to-play Tribes: Ascension. Maybe I'll get the premium pack if I like the game.

I know SpartanEvolved and Bluevoodu got Payday: The Heist.

I also got From Dust.

Let's see what the next few days' deals bring!
 
Creepin: Be sure you get Combined Operations and not just Arma 2. You need Combined Ops to play DayZ. ;)

I've gotten quite a few games already. Also gifted a few to some friends.
Still waiting on a Splinter Cell franchise deal, Assassin's Creed franchise deal, and hopefully Bastion and FUEL will go on sale sooner or later.

This sale has also done great things besides letting me buy lots of games for cheap, it's motivated me to finish all the games from previous Steam sales, lol.
I finally got around to LIMBO and beat it the other day, (brilliant game) then I started Tomb Raider Anniversary (I also bought Underworld and Legend since I like Anniversary so much :)) and I plan on doing BioShock 1 & 2 after I beat TRA.

Was hoping Skyrim would go <$20, but it just went 50% off for $30 yesterday and it's not going to go any lower than that this time. Oh well. :/

I'll make up a list of everything I got once it's all over.

Skyrim ain't going lower for at least another year and all the DLC has dried up. It's still selling well at its current prices. I wish it would've gone lower too, but I'm okay with it since I have many other games to play.
 
This sale came on just in time, there's been a huge void in games that interest me since the Diablo 3 honeymoon period is over. I pulled the trigger on the $30 skyrim, bought monkey island out of nostalgia and just got the dungeon siege 1, 2, 3 set. If Arma hits a flash or at least goes sub 20's I'll snag it because everyone I know that plays the dayz mod says it's one of the best game experiences they've had. Oh yeah, if L4d2 hits sub 5 I'll snag it too, I keep feeling left out when ega is all playing it on steam!

L4D2 was $4.99 the other day, did you miss it?
 
Yeah, I wouldn't worry about missing L4D. Those games go on sale regularly almost every week.

Finally got AC:Revelations yesterday. So far, that's my only pickup. Let's see what the rest of the week brings.
 
I think I realized the steam sale was going on a couple days ago, never saw l4d2 on sale, so yeah I probably missed it. Oh well, I bought tons of other stuff to install but never play!

I noticed a good bit of us from EGA bought Shoot Many Robots, I find that odd, out of all the $2.00 games that's what we all ended up with in common.

Why, why, did I ever doubt you, Bastion??! I never did understand why everyone adored this game so much… until I finally picked it up for $3.74 a couple days ago. Amazing game. I can certainly understand all the love for it now and I regret not buying it sooner. Certainly worth the cheap $15 regular price, and I'd pay $30, $50… whatever. It's a great game.
 
just bought la noire, eye cybermancy, plants v zombies, and l4d2 all for < $15.00, So far I've bought 9 games. It's usually the winter sale that gets me, but I think this year the summer sale is pretty killer.

be sure to ceck out the official content to there alot of nice stuff there without the dayz mod ;)
 
got amra 2 yesterday, making it an even ten summer sale games purchased.

Just to add about arma 2, there is boatloads of content and it's super realistic but it's suckish by itself. The controls in general are utterly user unfriendly and the game's pace is a snooze fest.

add the day z mod and it's easy to overlook the controls, the pace is offset by the sheer anxiety caused by the game.

But I knew the game was garbage going in to the purchase, I just wanted it for dayz, and its fun!
 
Spartan and I bought Arma2 as well.

We should get an EGA Arma 2 night going and Day Z mod. There is supposively a War Z mod as well? I haven't heard a lot about that one though.

@ Bowtohalo.... I will definitely check out the main game. I've wanted to buy this for awhile.

Just got Arma II as well. So glad that they let previous day sales go on deep into the next day. Has saved me a couple of times. I'm definitely down for an EGA Day Z night.
 
I concur, target. The controls are extremely bad in Arma, and it's a pretty boring and EXTREMELY buggy game if you're not doing something interesting. There are some awesome scenarios out there that really make the game fun. If you play with friends you can really talk to then it's also easy to overlook the bad points. DayZ lets you completely overlook it all. :lol

I've had Arma 2 and DayZ for a while, so I'm kinda experienced. So if you guys need help just ask me. :3
And of course I am down for a DayZ night. It's just so hard to hook up with friends in that game, since there is no map you can just look at and know where you are. It's like er… real life. :V
 
I'd be down for an ega dayz game night but wonder how many hours it'd take for several of us to get together? When you're playing with one or two friends you can kill yourself / reload until you spawn sorta close but with several that'll be a chore. It'd be awesome though because it's a nightmare running around alone, I think I've only seen 1 person not fire at me on sight, and of course once you exchange fire with someone there's zombies coming to see what's up.

All that aside, I absolutely love being on the gun end of that bullet and imagining the frustration of the other guy(s) when they get killed outta nowhere or have a buch of zombies aggroed on em. I've definatly had a lot of laughs and said a lot of dirty words playing this game so far!
 
I did finally get L4D2 for 5 bucks! That will conclude my steam purchases for a bit anyway, I've bought more than I'll be able to play for a long time. btw creepin, are we friends on steam?
