suggestions for Nintendo in 2008

Ok, not that anyone from Nintendo actually comes here (or maybe they do...who knows), but what are some things you would suggest that would give the Wii a chance to keep its current success going?

My main suggestion:

HARD DRIVE. This one really should be a no-brainer. I have friends who are already out of space because of Virtual Console games. 512 MB after a while is just not going to cut it.

If they added a hard drive it would also allow them to do other things that take up memory, such as releasing demos and trailers. IMO they should really take a page from MS's book on that. I'd love to be able to download Wii demos and trailers.

Same here. The Wii's a great console, but some suggestions are:

Hard Drive - See above

Focus more on online play - We don't all want to buy three extra sets of wii-motes and nunchuks just to play with other people Nintendo. I'm not saying focus solely on online play, but more dedication to online play will help out tremendously.

That's really it. They don't need a price drop, or better games. They'll get both of those in time.

They've already stated they could make a hard drive because of the USB ports, but because of how small everything is, don't SD Cards work just fine?

It's more about convenience, especially for downloadable content. Microsoft handled it perfectly. Nintendo could do the same.

As soon as Nintendo gets downloadable demos, I'll start caring then.

Relax, this is just a suggestion. It's not bashing the Nintendo or anything. :lol

No console's perfect. We're just talking about what it could improve on.

I was never over reacting, I was just saying, if it's wanted for downloadable demos and stuff...then they sorta need downloadable demos.

Which was also something brought up.

Odds are they'd only release a hard drive after the demos, though.

I don't think so. It would be logical to get the space to put all the demos before actually releasing them. Or having some kind of demo released with a Hard Drive.

Yeah, you'd think that, but Nintendo would probably see if anyone would buy a first party SD Card first, and if not, maybe if they got enough complaints, they'd release a hard drive.

Speaking of, wouldn't the hard drive be bigger than the Wii if it had a decent amount of space?

Yes, I'd think that, because that would be logical. The Hard Drive would be first party too, so it would become a great alternative. I'd hate trying to figure out which demo is on which SD card. Then again, a one gig SD card would only be able to hold 1, maybe two demos.

With the USB hubs in the back, it would make it longer, but not by much.

Haha. Wii games are really small, remember, a demo wouldn't take up a half gig. Not to mention, there's already four gig cards(might be bigger, I dunno), and by the time they actually start doing demos, there could be much bigger cards.

:lol Wii games are small, but they'd still take up a nice load on an SD card. If the demo was really small, I'd say it'd take 256MB at least. And who'd want to spend $80 or so on a 4 GB Nintendo SD card when you could spend the same on a 20 GB hard drive?

Because 4 gig cards are far from $80. They're about $20. The casual Wii consumer doesn't need a huge hard drive, they'd need about a card to download a demo or two on, then delete them. And Nintendo knows casual consumers are massive for the Wii.

Here's an easy suggestion: Allow us to run memory card saves/Virtual Console games straight from an SD card.
That means free VC games for your buddies.

Can't you store VC games on SD cards, but can only either have them on the Wii's limited hard drive or the SD card? I don't know how they'd be able to run VC games straight from SD cards without them seeing it as stealing.

No, you can have both the game and the save in the Wii and SD Card.
