Al Quada has blown up a subway train in London today, over 700 are wounded and at least 40 dead. I don't know what else to say, so read the story!

Here is a timeline of events:

Paddick said the first explosion had come at 8:51 a.m. BST (0351 ET) near Liverpool Street, Aldgate and Aldgate East Underground stations, where seven were confirmed dead.

At 8:56 a.m. there was a second explosion on a Piccadilly Line train near Kings Cross and Russell Square tube stations, where 21 were confirmed dead.

At 9:17 a.m. there was an explosion on a train traveling into Edgware Road station, affecting two other trains, with five confirmed dead.

At 9:47a.m there was an explosion on a bus at Upper Woburn Place near Tavistock Square. Fatalities have been confirmed, but the number is unknown at this stage.

My thoughts and prayers are with London right now. These people need to stop they arent accomplishing anything by hurting innocent people.

A splinter cell of Al-Quada has claimed to be responsible, but it's not confirmed to be true.

I'm just glad that our innevitable terrorist attack wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. I expected a 9/11-esque attack on an important building.

Any terrorist attack is bad whether its some buses and subways or on a building. But I understand what you are saying. As for it being confirmed I thought that it was confirmed that some Al-quada group was responsible. Didn't they send out some press release or something? I havent watched the news since this morning.

Yeah, I heard the secretary of whatever (transportation maybe) say that they were raising the terrorist alert level to orange for the "mass transportation" portion of the system i guess...........i feel bad for those guys over there, it is too bad that people had to lose lives for a pointless reason

I found myself angry that these terrorists would do such a horrible thing. Only a dog would attack and kill something for no reason. And these terrorists are dogs.
Killing over 40 people and injuring 700 is an unpardonable act of the utmost cruelty. I just hope the people of Britain will find themselves more couragous than before the attacks instead of more fearful than before. My prayers go out for the survivors, and the families of the dead. And may God have swift vengence on the dogs who carried out this act.

to all of the children out there looking at this message, and even everyone else, we need to stop all of the racism, sexism, and all around prejudice and bigotry. i am only fifteen so some of you may say that i have no idea what i am talking about. but i do. i am african american and i am a victim of racism. my arm was broken when some racist guys threw a sledgehammer at me through their car window while i was walking home from school. i am okay now, but that is beside the point. the pint is that we need to stop mistreating people because of their views, the way they act, their gender, sexuality, race, or even friends. we are what is left for now to make this world a better place. and i know that i can't talk to everyone, but i am saying what i can right now. so listen to me and tell your frinds and enemies to live the legacy that our forefathers (and mothers) wanted us to live. one without crazy crap like terrorist attacks and sensless injuries. we can stop it. :)

Good words.

If that was directed at me for calling these terrorists dogs, then let me clarify something. It isn't racially motivated. It was based on their actions alone. Personally i copuld care less where anyone is from. You have been a victim of racial violence. I am sorry that it happened to you. I have been a victim of religious persecution. It may not have been racially motivated, but the sting is just as intense. I was beat up in highschool for professing my faith in Christ. I have been the object of insults at work because of it. I have recieved hateful emails.
The events in London shouldn't be singled out for any racial propaganda. It was an unfortunate event carried out by the most hateful and vile of human beings. Their actions are the object of hate and rage. Not the color of their skin that is behind their masks. Nor the nationality of the guilty, or the innocent. This event if anything should be just like the 9/11 attack. It should bring all races and nationalities together to rid the world of people who wish to harm or kill those who simply want to live...

what i said was not directed towards anyone.  it was a general statement and i am sorry if it was offensive to anyone.  it was not just about the terrorist attacks or racism.  it was about the world as a whole coming together and stoping all prejudice.  including religious persecution.  you were right in calling them terrorist dogs for that is what they are.  but you shouldn't hate them for it.  (if you do)  and i know the sting of any kind of abuse is as intense.  my friends sometimes tease me not because i am black, but because i don't hang out with many other black kids.  most of my friends are white.  i have to put up with the abuse because they are right.  the stereotype of my rece is to hang out with members of my race.  i just wish that i didn't have to and i am that you have to put up with the people who give you crap for what you believe in.

If we don't try to understand them then why should they try to understand us?

Put yourself in their shoes. Try to understand what its like to live in an Iraq that's occupied by foreign invaders. Try to understand what poverty and living in a third world country is all about. Try to understand that these are acts of desperation, not just acts of hate. They are not dogs. They are people, just like everyone else. Misguided, yes, but hating them for it is not going to change anything.

That being said...

It is terrible that events like these occur, and that there are people in the world that go to these extremes to send their message. It is also terrible that the people injured and killed were innocent people that the terrorists had never met before and never had a problem with. What a stupid world...

Sorry no matter how desperate you are you dont go and kiil innocent people. They are actually beneath dogs to me. And they are acts of hate and sometimes jealousy, oh and religious reasons. Which to me is the worst reason you can use to kill because that isnt what God or Allah is about. You say they live in a third world country yet Osama Bin Laden is one of the richest people in the world. It isnt the the people in Afghanistan or Iraq that are doing this its a group of people who are full of hate and would like to get rid of us at any cost.

Mass transit systems in the US are going to be fine, trust me. I was in D.C. when this happened, they took it VERY seriously. Bomb sniffing dogs, armed guards, etc.

You guys should have seen it, they recalled the military brass before they raised the level, helicopters everywhere.

I'm sorry, but even if I was living in poverty, I wouldn't go around blowing up everyone who doesn't agree with me. These people are just fanatics who think in simple terms of "I'm right, you're wrong". If you don't like it, they kill you, and think they go to heaven for it.

They aren't blowing London buses and trains because GB isn't giving them money, they're doing it because they merely see the West as "Infidels". They don't care who we are, what we do, or even if we know them. They only care that they kill us and go to Heaven for it. It can't get much more simpler than that.

That being said, and I quote my mother, "It's cowardly".

acts of desperation or acts of stupidity, there is no reason to do this.

Well, the reason they do it is because they can and it works. You can't hardly fight an enemy you don't know is there. In Vietnam, two world powers (at the time) lost a war to a country with vastly inferior technology. Why? The enemy fought guerilla style, which is how terrorists fight. Same goes with the American Revolution. When you are outnumbered and outgunned that is how you fight if you want to win.

How is it possible to fight a people that do not even value their own lives, let alone ours? Reckless hate is dangerous. I cannot help but feel that bad times lie ahead.

To the people of London and England: You were attacked without reason. The people that died were not fighting a war. They were not doing evils of their own. They were innocent. It's disgusting. And I'm very sorry that the anger and extremism of the terrorists was taken out on them.

The world is such a sad place at times.
