I personally hate voice chat during a game. It's one thing to be sitting next to your opponent, but hearing a whiny crybaby kid thousands of miles away running his mouth about how great he is even though he's getting handed is annoying.

Sure those are some of the bad points of chat. But, if you play with your friends online and make new ones wouldn't the text help. Chatting on a game is one of the easiest ways to have fun without having people come over or not going anywhere. Tell a few jokes, own some noobs, and all around have fun while playing. Sure there are annoying kids and adults but, there's always the mute button. And if it comes down to it, boot the player.

I try not to talk during racing games so I don't get distracted. But I would still like voice chat for Mario Kart, because when my friends and I play the DS version at work, it's kind of like what Zidart said, every once in a while you have to go "Ugh, who used the blue shell??" and talk friendly trash talk with your friends. I wouldn't be opposed to friends-only voice chat for Mario Kart.

I am pretty sure in the US Mario Kart Wii dosen't come out for like a few months. If anyone here live in the US and knows when Mario Kart Wii comes out of the Wii. I really want this game and if I get this game I can trade this game for something really good like Guitar Hero III. Someone send me a Private message telling me whent his game comes out. Thanks

I think Mario Kart is supposed to come out in April, but I'm not sure if there is a confirmed release date yet.
