Don't get me wrong. 700 cars, 50 tracks (that can be reversed as well), easier licences that you don't need in the first place etc makes this almost perfection. Almost. So close, but not quite. And why is that? Let me tell you why:

First of, where's the arcade mode? Sure you can choose "Arcade mode" from the main menu, but that only gives you options like Single Race, Time Trial and that. Sure you could do that in GT3 as well, but at least you had a point in doing that in GT3. Win single races a lot and win a car you can use in GT Mode. And what do you get if you finish win races in arcade mode in GT4? Nothing at all. (or maybe not -nothing-, as you do get a nice picture of your trophy and some GT "points (?), but that's it.) (GT Points equal a highscore or something.)

Then there's the AI. Park your car so they have to turn a -slightly- bit to avoid crashing. Wait until they have driven the entire lap, reach you and... every single one of them crash into you. Not one of them even remotely try to avoid crashing. And what's worse, they don't even loose speed. I crashed into another car at 150km/h during a corner, and that moron didn't even loose speed?

Bottom line: The game's almost perfect, but it all comes at a cost. The cost is a really, really bad AI - making the game unplayable. I got it last Thursday and will sell it today (Monday). That's how crap it is. No kidding. You're warned.

No way dude. The biggest letdown of the year goes to... Fight Club. I was stoked when I bought it, I mean crunching bones, characters from the movie, create-a-fighter, and a story mode. I was so mad when the story mode was just a bunch of fights after another. And the bone crunching moves are pretty stupid. Also the create-a-fighter option is so limited there is no point in even doing it.

Gt4 definitley isnt the biggest let down of the year. I think it could be improved in many ways, but there is no way its a let down.

Man you've just totally made me not interested in GT4 at all from your statement. I mean if all this is true then why even buy the game? I'd just stick with GT3 and be done with it. From your statement it seems that your saying that GT3 is better and that GT4 is nothing but a showoff of its graphics.

I dont even know why you bought this game, you should of gotten a stupid slap for that move buddy. I mean if I was playing this and my mom saw how crappy it was, she'd kick my @ss!

Take GT3, remove the Arcade mode, add a few hundred cars, add a few dozen tracks, improve the track graphics and reduce the AI - and what do you get? GT4. It's just more or the same. You might want to rent it if you loved GT3, but otherwise stay away from it.

Man...well I haven't even played it yet or even touch the box set yet. Its all your opinon though, some people think its way better and some people think its the same thing like your thinking.

So what do you plan on doing with your copy? Sell it on eBay?

well I do admit that when I played GT3 I did have way more fun than I am having now. To tell the truth, when I got GT3 I didnt play another game for about 4-5 months. I just got gt4 a couple weeks ago and Im already playing WE8 instead. IMO Winning Eleven is the best soccer game ever made, and my favorite game I bought all year. GT4 is definitley a cool game, but Im not feeling it like I did with GT3 :-\

Man...so what's the point in getting the game then? I might not get it now since you guys seem to think GT3 is better. Most games are like that too, the first game is usually the best out of the seris. Ares, the year isn't done yet so Im sure you going to get another game and say the same thing about it. :lol

Hmm...let me take that back, I do want to play GT4 really bad, I think Im going to go and rent the game first and give it a test drive. ;)

Im not so sure about that Royce, No matter what game I get it would have to be amazing to be better then WE8. I dont think you guys understand how much I like this game. :)

I thought GT4 was awesome. MY biggest letdown was probably DRIV3R for reasons anyone whose played it should easily know.

Ok, what if WE9 comes out then? You still going to be all over WE8? :lol

I dont see two Winning Elevens coming out in one year, but if it did happen then I guess I would like 9 better.

FIFA 2005 is a great game, but compared to WE8 it is a joke. imo
FIFA is too much of an arcade game, it doesnt really require any gaming talent. There isnt much strategy in it either. Plus the fact that every goal you score is one out of 4 different variations. Not exactly but most of the goals look a like.

So I sold GT4, bought Cold Fear and have some serious fun - for about ten minutes. Tossed it out the window, bought Mercenaries, played it ten days straight. (or "Easter" as you might call it.) Now -that- was worth the money!

GT4, Oh yeah, the game that was immediatly rejected to alot of players because it is a game that everyone wants to run their souped up cars against others online, but once again. Your stuck in a never ending single player mode. I hate racing games. 'Cept for maybe a burnout game here or there...

I like a good racing game, but GT4 isn't one. First of all, why would you need to get a license to drive? It could have been fun as an optional mini-game, but not as a requirement. Second, you always see the cars drive around for a long time before they finally reach the starting line. And then when you finally do start, you always start in last. Add a stupid AI that follows a specific line no matter what, and you got yourself a boring game. It doesn't matter how realistic the cars are or how many you have when they are boring to drive.
