The PS3 has been robbed!!!

...of all its exclusive title. And the culprit is none other than the sinister Xbox 360. DMC 4 and Ace Combat 6 are the latest stolen possessions. The PS3 now only has FF 13 (which will likely soon lose its exclusivity according to gamespot) and MGS 4. Why must the 360 be evil to the PS3? The poor thing doesn't have anything left to get stolen. Poor thing. :'(

sony deserves it, they stole analog, motion sensing, and rumble from nintendo, and noone made a big deal over it.

i think its funny as heck to see the ps3 fail like this.

Well.

It's not stolen if Sony never owned it in the first place. All of these titles are third party games. Third party games can be on any console. Last gen it just happened that the PS2 had a big enough userbase that would buy the games and make up development costs. This gen, not so much. So Capcom, Namco, and Konami are doing the smart thing and getting their games on multiple consoles to maximize how many people are able to buy it. The more people can buy their games = more money for them.

Sony does have some good first/second party stuff though. I still think Heavenly Sword looks good. And unless things get really bad for Sony, I doubt that Naughty Dog or Insomniac will jump ship anytime soon. So any Ratchet & Clank and Jak and sequels to Resistance will still be on the PS3 only. And you know inevitably there will be God of War 3.

Competition is always better for the consumer, it forces manufacturers to work harder at earning our dollar. Non-exclusivity also helps defeat the scourge of fanboyism.

problem of NOT having exclusives... there is no reason to buy one system over another other than other system features.

I am going against the grain here.... EVERY system needs exclusives. That's why they fight so hard for them. It is essential. Exclusives may not be the "be all end all" But they sure help a console keep it's customer base.

I realize these are all third party titles, but their exclusivity was taken away by microsoft when they made a deal with the developers so yeah sony didn't OWN them, but they were all exclusives. 8)

It's business and if it isn't going to be profitable for them they shouldn't and considering how much more expensive the PS3 is compared to X-box 360 and Wii I'm surprised the 3rd party companies took this long to jump ship. It's the nature of the business 3rd pary companies shouldn't have any loyalty to console manufacturers only to customers and themselves to operate any other way wouldn't only be a bad way for individual business but bad for the market as a whole and us as consumers.

Sony dropped the ball on exclusivity because they haven't had much success with 1st party software and you can't depend on 3rd party developers to stick around for ever. They made their mark in the industry by picking up the ball after Nintendo dropped it back in the '90s and now the tables have turned. Nintendo has suffered as well by cranking out mediocre exclusives based on Mario and Zelda, which is what forced them to innovate with the Wii. Consistency in product breeds loyalty but it also breeds stagnation. Without fierce competition businesses have no reason to try harder. Change is good. :D

There were a TON of mediocre Mario games, but what the hell mediocre Zelda games are you talking about? The worst one was Majora's Mask and that still pwned. The GameCube Zelda games were awesome (windwaker and TP) and the N64 ones wer awesome too (Ocarina of Time, the best game EVER, and Majoras mask)

Twighlight princess was terrible...the N64 ones were ok...all the portable ones blew...and the ones on the snes were fun for about a week.

That's just what one person thinks. Most people will tell you that Ocarina of Time was one of the top 10 best games ever made. Its first on game rankings.com, got a 10/10 from edge magazine (they've given like 2 other games 10's) and was the first game to ever get a 10/10 on gamespot. Your the fist person I've heard say that Twilghit Princess sucks. It and GeoW were like the only games to get GOTY awards. The portable ones were just as good as the old NES and SNES ones (because they were basically the same thing) and some of the best games on the Game Boys. I can't really comment about the SNES ones cause I never had an SNES. 8)

Twilight Princess rocked.... at first, then it was the same boring crap over and over

I totally agree with this statement. Systems NEED exclusives.... but, nowadays its hard for developers to make enough money selling a game on only one system and thats why most are jumping ship, not just cuz the 360 "pwns" - god i hate that

I agree, Twilight Princess was a magnificent game. Although I can't say I like people bagging on TP, it's alright for them to think their silly thoughts about TP sucking. Now honestly Auron, if you're telling me you've never played Ocarina of Time and are saying that it's a game like TP, then you need to get your head examined. That's just like my little brother saying he hates salad, but he's never tried it. It's just silly, you gotta give games a chance just like food. May not seem appealing, but if you play it, you might like it.

Well I guess if you found TP fun... :lol

Oh and about being one of the first to say TP wasn't good...we have a whole topic about how much of a let down the game was. There's tons of other members that didn't like it.

I'm not talking about just here. Every person I've talked to had said that TP was awesome. You were the first I've ever heard saying it was terrible. 8)

That's true, some people just don't like TP, that's understandable, I'm cool with that because most people have reasonable information to back up that statement other than "TP sucks" or "it was too easy". That's what grinds my gears.

Oh and as a sidenote, I think that we should stop with Zelda, this is PS3 thread, in the Sony section. Zelda belongs in the Nintendo section.
