Best controllers so far, in my opinion are:

1. NES controller. Simple and easy to use.

2. PS1/PS2 controller. Instant classic, and very easy to use.

3. The "newer" Xbox controler. Once the confidence is there, it's a nice setup.

4. N64 controller. No matter how I hold it, it fits.

5. The Dreamcast controller. No reason. I just like it.

I hope that the "Revolution" controller will knock one off my personal top five. To me it seems promising.

The GCN controller is the most egronomic controller..

As far as layout and setup, the Ps2 Dualshock is nice, but Nintendo 64 has an amazing controller.

I didn't care for the N64 controller. I could play with it if I was gonna play Mariokart or Super Mario 64, but since those games are now on the DS, I would rather just use that. It was cool to play some NFL Blitz on the N64 though!!! :D

Man, the 64 controller completely owns DS for pin-point accuracy on Mario 64.. no compare... :-)

Yeah, but I would rather be able to take it somewhere else instead of just the sofa

That and they added new stuff the the DS version. Like, for instance, 3 more playable characters. And 30 stars.

But, the N64 version is so gosh darn fun to play even nowadays its unbelievable. Most of that is nostalgia, but, its still a good game.

Mario's still the best character and these new additions don't make up for Mario's tight control on 64.

Only thing that's better about the DS is that it's portable and better graphics, which I couldn't care less about. The gameplay sucks compared to the N64.I've always found video games to be a good thing to play on the sofa, but maybe it's just me

The game doesn't have better graphics. Actually the DS is almost as powerful as the N64.

The DS version has lots of additions, but what's the use if you can't control the characters right? Although the Mini-games are fun.

Mario 64 DS does have some graphical improvements over the Nintendo 64 version.

I'd like to see a real sequel to SM64. I mean, Sunshine was cool and Galaxies looks interesting, but I would like a slightly more traditional platformer.

Are you sure? Im almost positive the models have fewer polygons. They are smoother but not as detailed.

Slight graphical improvement. It's been a while since I played it, but there are some things that look better and some things which are less impressive. All things which you can see right off the bat.

I don't think colored and filled-in octagons are things that are hard to improve upon,so I don't think the N64's graphics are as good as the DS's

You'd be surprised. And they don't consist of Octagons. Yes the DS is very close to the N64 but technically it is not. Same with the PSP. Close but not the same. It might be able to smooth polygons better but they aren't as detailed. One of the first things I noticed was the reduced polygons.

Well, Mario is fun to play on any system...no matter what he's doing-jumping on creature's heads to cleaning up gunk with a water squirter...... :D
