The Xbox 360 Dev Kit. The system you'll never get to touch.....

MegaDrive20XX

Segatron Genesis... call me the wizard.

Black with blue steel finish and a massive harddrive. The difference? The Harddrive can't come off. Only big companies have one of these bad boys sitting in their offices.

Forbidden Fruit? You betcha...

i envy you :'( (not being sarcastic)

Nah, you shouldn't. In all honesty, they're not that exciting. I'm not even sure why Kotaku thought it was news worthy. Either way, they're cool for about five minutes, and then you realize you can't play retail games on them. :P

Although, we did just get our DSi dev units in. I'll report in the DSi thread about them.

I've touched them, too. The basic model, but yeah. It looks just like a regular 360, with a humongous "hard drive" expansion made for debugging. You can connect it directly to a computer and influence it.

In the game that they were showing us during the Midway tour, they made a change in the coding of the game (still can't say the game's name yet, lol) from the computer. It instantly changed within the screen. It was completely awesome.

During the tour, almost every single room had a dev 360. We asked how much they cost, and they said Microsoft rents them out to devs, but they have to pay for it if they break it (they said it's around $8,000). :o

Mmm... that 360' looks tantalisingly good... must be the Blue steel looking colour.

It never said how big these Harddrives are? Anyone know?

AND 8K! Dang, I would really need to be a game developer or work where you do, Creepin', to get the chance to explore one of these.

Man i would love to just be a game developer...*cries*

it would be so awesome to just sit and make games...i would make such wonderful games...the kind that get banned from austrailia and germany

I work at THQ. We have developers in Australia, THQ Australia and Blue Tongue. I think we might have one more but I'm not sure.

Hook me up. I'm a fast learning and very interested in the development field.

Just never had the stuff at home to help me learn more about how to do it.
