Well it finally happened today. I was hit with a big birthday surprise and I didn't know how to describe it. I was rather speechless this morning when I awoke to this.

I did not see this coming by a long shot. Had no real intention of getting into the next-gen, yet there it is...

An Xbox 360 with harddrive, proper cables, a wired controller, DOA4, Dead Rising. My parents really fooled me this year by far.
 
Nice collection! I recently got a 360 as well (last Friday) and I'm loving it. I have Dead Rising and Perfect Dark Zero, as well as four arcade games. It's definitely an amazing system.

Now you just need Xbox Live so we can play!
 
Very nice! Tell us what you think of the hardware. My only concern with the xbox is hardware failure. Plenty of good games coming soon.
 
From what I have been told, if the 360 is made after June 06' you're good to go. Yet they come with a solid warranty

Everybody I know that got their system at launch have never had problems with anything.
 
I just paid the $59.90 to Microsoft and extended the warranty 2 years. I had one issue with PRey when it froze and I exchanged the game and have not had an issue since. It was the game.

From what you guys have said it sounds like they run pretty well. I will get a warranty with it if I ever purchase one.
 
Well duh! I got a 2 year extended warranty for like $40, but it covers everything. If I lose it for any reason, I can get a new one. I don't intend to lose it, but safe > sorry.
 
Like candy kisses...I like the variety...feels like 3 systems in 1...your Xbox games...your Xbox Live Arcade games...and your Xbox 360 games
 
I envy you. I still have to wait 3 months. Sweet games too. Its probally late now, but happy birthday and enjoy the many hours that only a console can bring. :D

After an hour of hardcore Dead Rising, the fans are only starting up now and the air coming out the back is only slightly warm. The console itself is quite cool to the touch, cold in some places.
 
Are you kiddin? I can warm up a burrito on this puppy...mine gets warm! All I hear is the whirling of the fans of both the console and the Power Supply.

Oh word of advice I was recently taught, DO NOT LEAVE THE POWER SUPPLY ON THE FLOOR this is even written in the manual (unless you have wooden flooring in your household) because the Power Supply needs alot of ventilation. So What I did is sit the power supply on the entertainment center on the right side, that way it can get enough air.
